Tax on facility fee?

Hi Ladies,
My venue charges a flat fee to use the venue. I just got the bill and they're charging tax on this fee. Is this normal? I feel like that shouldn't be taxed.

There is no tax on space rental.  They can tax the service charge, and any beverage that they sell to you.
