Engagement Photos - what did you use them for?

We got an engagement session as a part of our photo package. But we have no plans for the photos. We thought about a guest book but it is $650. Then we thought maybe table numbers but FI is not a fan and Id like to do luminaries instead. And save the dates have already gone out.

What did you do with your photos?

table numbers and i created out own album on shutterfly. it's not every day you get to dress up and take a bunch of nice pics together, so we figured it was worth putting together an album for. i usually feel bad asking friends to take more than 1 or 2 pics of fi and i together when we are out / at a family function or something.

Use ordered some prints for our family. We also used them for a guest book. Our photographer guest book price was 80$ with the E-pics.

We're not doing an e-session so I don't have suggestions for you, but I still felt compelled to say WOW!  Who's your photographer?

We are using them for table numbers and a guest book.  Your photographer is charging a lot for a guest book!

Use shutterfly or snapfish to make a much cheaper guest book.....We havn't done ours yet but we were doing them just to get familiar with the photographer himself.

We used them for save the dates and then just made an album from shutterfly. It was fun to get all dressed up and have some professional photos taken.

Thanks so much; this is very helpful. I LOVED the guest book idea but thought it was really expensive. I didn't think of doing it online. Is it hard? I'm going to check it out! FI and I could be the most unphotogenic people in the world so we are excited and dreading this all at the same time! Lol

personally, i think it is very easy to do online. i've use photowork and shutterfly. i was very happy with my recent book from shutterfly.

it even tells you if the resolution is high enough for certain size pictures. for examples, i wanted one whole page to be a picture. a red symbol came up (when u play around on the website, you will get it), singnaling that the resolution was not high enough to have that entire picture be the page.
shutterfly also has page layouts. there are different ones for 1 pic on a page, 2, 3, and up to 6 pics on a page. Just create a shutterfly account, upload your engagement pics to one album, and select the photo album option. they have different color books and different sizes. you can also had text to the pages or just have pictures.

They're easy to do.  I prefer Mpix to Shutterfly, Blurb, and some of the others that are suggested; the quality is much higher and the pricing is comparable.

These books will certainly not be nearly as nice as the photogapher's and I would expcct to pay for that quality as well as their professional design, but still, that's just a crazy price.

I found MyPublisher.com to do the best work online. We used our main one as our sign-in guestbook (they signed the mat)  :)

Use mixbook or shutterfly to make your guest book.  We used mixbook.com.  We are also getting 8x10 prints to put into our card holder made out of frames.
