Bubbles- do they really stain your dress?

So at our church meeting the wedding coordinator talked us into having bubbles when we leave the church. I got a whole bunch really cheap, but now my mom is freaking out that they will stain my wedding dress. Is this true? I asked at my bridal salon and got a mixed response. It seems everyone has heard this, but no one has really seen it happen. I could care less if we do bubbles, but now I bought them so I dont know what else to do w/ them haha. What do u guys think? And if we dont do bubbles, has anyone seen those streamer things (the ones that pop out but stay attached for easy cleanup) cheap somewhere?

I don't have any direct experience, but I'd think it would depend at least in part on the material of your dress (well, and how close people get to you with the bubbles), which may be the reason for mixed responses.

On the other hand, if it is minor damage -- well, you aren't going to wear the dress again at least.  SO many people stepped on my dress at the wedding -- I remember hearing rips a few times (though I couldn't see any damage as a result at least).  What can you do?

They also sell ones with a specific formula thats not supposed to stain. I can't vouch for it but I would imagine if it was that bad far fewer people would use them.

I've been in quite a few weddings with bubbles recently. I have never seen them stain the bride's dress. I have seen them stain darker colored BM dresses. And my stain I mean they leave this white powdery residue on the dress. All you have to do is wipe the dress with your hand and it comes off. No big deal at all.
