Calling all Asheville brides! Vendor suggestions

There don’t seem to be too many posts on here regarding Asheville. I think it might help if you have any vendors you can suggest for just about everything. I know there are a lot of “destination Asheville” brides out there like myself that need some help!! Affordable options are especially needed.

Have any vendors you can suggest, especially in these categories?

- Venue

- Transportation

- Wedding Cake / Bakery

- Photographer

- Videographer

- DJ

- Florist

- Hair

- Makeup

- Accommodations

- Officiants

Unfortunately I dont have any direct recommendations for Asheville, but I wanted to suggest checking out the NC Bride Bio.  Ncbridebio.com

You might find some information there :o)

I live about 30 min away from Asheville and know the area well. I am getting married about 45 min away in Lake Lure at Rumbling Bald Resort. We have went with a few vendors from in and around the Asheville area. Our DJ is actually from Boiling Springs....they are Multientertainment Mobile Dj and they are very reasonably priced. You can find them on Facebook. We looked at a bunch of venues in Asheville before deciding. Highland Lake Inn is a real pretty place along with Claxton Farms and The Farm. We are still in the process of deciding on the cake but we have done tastings with Tiffany's Baking Co. and this weekend will be with Icing on the Cake. Our photographer is out of Marion, which is about 30-45 min from Asheville. Her name is Amber Wiseman and she does really great work and is also reasonably priced. The videographer we went with is from Charlotte with a company called Charlotte Video Ventures. They were the most reasonable that we could find that continued to have the best quality. I hope this helps you! If you have any questions you can message me!

Hi Daydreamzz, I just recently moved from Asheville, so I can give you a few suggestions... As far as venues, I absolutely love Homewood (http://www.mybelovedhomewood.com/).  It has multiple outdoor locations and a beautiful reception site.  Also check out the Arboretum, and the Grand Bohemian Hotel (beautiful!). Transportation - check with the City of Asheville for the trolleys they use for their historic tours.  Also check out LaZoom tours, they have a funky purple bus that they do tours on as well.
Bakery - Try Sister's McMullen  Photographers - Check out Regina Holder and Alisha Silver! I have been in contact with both and they are both very quick to respond and very nice! Hope this helps!

I second Homewood.  My sister got married there.  Absolutely beautiful.

She used Livesound Entertainment (DJ) and Tuesday Frogs (Photographer).

Just as a side note, Sisters McMullen are absoloutley terrible. They wont work with you and one of the sisters had a very bad attitude. Very bad experience there.

Homewood is beautiful, but very costly

Try Celine and Company, they run a venue called "On Broadway" Thats where I am getting married. Its gorgeous, and pretty affordable. $5000 for everything, except the dj, photographer, and florist. Thats for food, 4 hour open bar, they set up, tear down, everything.

Try Shutter Shack Photography, they are super.
Icing on the Cake is great for the cakes too.

    Thanks for the input everyone!

I emailed a lot of cake bakers and so far only one has even gotten back to me. A lot of times, I do kind of judge the vendor on whether they respond to my emails because I do everything by email and I need someone who I know will respond. I'm trying True Confections bakery in February. The lady has been extremely responsive and the price is right!

I didn't look at Celine and Company but I kind of wish I did! That price is amazing!

you can try Hidden River Events. They are just outside asheville. I believe all the pricing is on the website. They have been great to work with so far. They acutally helped us find our photographer (Jesse Kitt), and other vendors.
