Family Photos...

For those taking pictures before the ceremony.  When did you get your family pictures (like aunt's and uncles).  If we do these before... I feel like it will be half of our guests.. and I don't really want them to see me before the ceremony. 

How long did these type of pictures take?

We did this at the reception. We just grabbed everyone from their tables, called the photographer over and got a couple shots. Took maybe 3-5 minutes per family, and we got four group photos (my dad's family, mom's family, FIL's family, MIL's family).

The only people in our formal photos at the church were our parents, siblings and my grandmother (only surviving grandparent). We actually didn't do formal group photos before the ceremony ... we got a couple shots of me with the BMs before we left for the church and that was it.

But we admittedly weren't interested in a ton of formal photos. We preferred the photojournalistic, candid shots, and we got plenty of those.

We didn't have a ton of family formals. We did our ceremony then a recieving line then we did our exit from the church then we took a few family shots in front of the church before the BP left to do our photos and then my family headed to the cocktial hour.

Siblings and parents we did before the ceremony. The whole family as a group during the middle of the reception we pulled everyone aside.

We plan on him and I before the ceremony in a private thing.  we will take pics before with our seperate families, and bridal party and then after the ceremony we will be all together.
