looking for something that is elegant with great food and great service... we are anticipating around 150-175 guests so I would want a place that has around that for a minimum guarantee.. certain places need a 200 person guarantee so those won't work.. I love the look of addison park and am leaning towards that but I am going to see how the westmount country club compares in look and price.. so to sum up i am looking for a beautiful place with great food and great service.. also since I am planning a July wedding nice grounds would also be a big plus.. and again not too far from staten island

I am having my reception at Il'Villaggio.  I think the place is beautiful!  The food is amazing and the service is really good.  They provide 1 server for every table which was a must for me.   However, they don't have much of an outside area.  I am having a July Sat. evening reception so I figured not too many people would be outside anyway.  Therefore, I picked Il'Villaggio based on the inside beauty, food, and service.

Our reception was at The Tides Estate in North Haledon, and we were really pleased with that. But IDK if that's too far from Staten Island for you. We were married in Jersey City and it's about 40 minutes from there.

Maybe look into The Chart House in Weehawken. Or maybe Michael Anthony's in Jersey City. Someone else here said she's booked the Westin Hotel in JC.

Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph. The food is amazing and the service was great. We really had a great wedding and our experience with the whole staff was awesome.

The Wilshire Grand in West Orange was BEAUTIFUL, but too much for me.  LOL>  May be in your price range.  The Grand Marquis in Old Bridge was nice too, not sure if too far though.

I second Nanina's in The Park.  They have the have absolutely beautiful grounds and the food is beyond excellent.  My friend had her reception there on a Friday in June and the minimum was 175.

Hi Lauren- I'm booked at Florentine and  it is very beautiful and is basically what you are  describing you want. The pricing varies greatly depending on day of week, i do believe you can get a Friday or Sunday in your price range.  Definitely go and ask, it won't hurt.  And I'm sure you will love it, it is truly beautiful.  Also, you can check out the Rockleigh.  Same deal price wise.   If you have any more questions ask me.

Please pm me if you would like to have your wedding on Sunday, July 3, 2011 in the main ballroom. I had to cancel unfortunately. The room is beautiful, just renovated with french doors leading to a balcony, all new hi tech lighting, gorgeous chandeliers, new drapes, chairs, mirrors, etc. The outdoors has a very pretty waterfall area with flowers, lights, gazebo, bench, stone pathway,...perfect for pictures! And no one can beat the food (quantity and quality!) at Seasons. And the service is unbeatable too. You are definitely in their range for price and minimum guarantee. Ask for Carl, very nice man. Let me know!

The Palace at Somerset Park is our venue and we love it!  It's beautiful and the food and service are great.  We really liked Addison Park too, but didn't like how they can have two weddings literally back to back and they share restrooms.  I had a friend who attended a wedding there and she said you could hear the music from the other party, especially during speeches and toasts.
    Good luck!

I booked my reception at il Villaggio as well. Bob is a pleasure to work with a they probably will have some available dates for a Friday and Sunday and will definitely be under 170 a head. The inside is gorgeous, one wedding at a time and the food is very good. There isn't an outside area but keep in mind that July may be very hot and being outside may not be the most comfortable for guests. Also their bridal squite is amazing and has a juliette balcony that overlooks the ballroom. It's gorgeous

I am also booked with Il Villaggio, they can prob accomodate what you are looking for. The place is gorgeous and like others have said, not much of an outside area, but the price is about $165pp, the food is amazing and the bridal suite is to die for. Good luck with your search.
