freaking out about bands or dj/mc!!

Hi Ladies!
I don't know why but I am getting myself super stressed about finding a band or a dj/mc.  My parents really would like a band, but I feel guilty about spending so much money (even if it's theirs) and so far haven't seen any bands I liked.  Are there any bands for under $6000 that anyone would recommend?  Personally, I think a dj with an emcee would be better.  So far I've looked at Elite Entertainment but I thought they were pricey.  Is $1,500 too much for a dj/emcee?  Sorry with all these questions but I'm just feeling crazy!

We are paying $1650 for DJ, Emcee, and basic lighting (Elite Sounds).  One guy we talked to was $1500, and the other guy was $1200 but no lighting.  My FI really liked the Elite people so that's why we went with them.

We're using a Russian American band, but I really liked Elegant Ensembles and would have probably went with them if we didn't need a Russian band. I want to say they started in the $6k range, but I don't remember for sure.

Elegant Ensembles -- We heard great things about them from other knotties.  We met with one of the owners, Mark.  He was such a down to earth person and very professional.  The FI and I walked out of his office confident we were going to book him.

For $2400 we are getting 1- DJ and 1-MC, plus tons of uplighting to fill the room.

They have bands also.  Mark plays in one of them.

My DJ is Best of Both Worlds Entertainment... its a cross between dj and band which might be perfect for you.  It's a DJ with Vocalists.  Check them out!  They are MUCH cheaper than a band and you still get the live entertainment feel

Thanks so much for all of your wonderful suggestions!! I'm definitely going to make some phone calls :)  Are there ways to see these DJs perform besides bridal shows?
