Versailles Ballroom at the Ramada in Toms River

has anyone been to a wedding, had their wedding here?  How is the food?  How were the hotel rooms?  Was there enough food for your guests at the breakfast the next day?  We are close to booking and i cannot find any recent reviews on this place.

Thank you

I attended a wedding there in November 2011. The food was excellent- both cocktail hour and dinner. The bar was great too, if a little small.

The hotel rooms are outdated but not terrible. They were okay for one night. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. They were always coming to refill the food, if necessary. Eggs, bacon, fruit, danishes, etc.

The one thing I will comment on is that there are nearly no places around the venue for pictures, besides the ballroom. They built a little gazebo outside in the back but it's small and overlooking their pool- not much ambiance. My friend had her pictures taken in the lobby of the hotel and they look terrible.

I used the Ramada for my hotel block.  They met our needs- decent prices, hotel bar, and restaurant.  Carolyn and the restaurant staff was very accomodating for us- they kept the bar open later for us after our wedding even though they typically close early on Sunday nights.

They were the most reasonable price for Labor Day weekend.  The rooms were fine, but seem have have a smokey smell lingering.  If you get married there, they will give you one of their suites to stay in.  We stayed in one of the suites- it was OK and worked well for our needs as a place for the guys to meet up and get ready, but not the nicest honeymoon suite I've seen- definitely outdated.

For breakfast we just made arrangements with Angles Cafe (the restaurant) that we would cover the breakfast of anyone who came from our hotel block.  We didn't want to do a formal, organized day-after brunch because we don't enjoy them ourselves.  This worked out perfectly because they people who wanted to grab a quick bite and get on the road were able to do so, and those who wanted to hang out a little longer were able to do so.  The buffet was decent- eggs, cereal, bread products.  Plus, I felt the prices they were giving me to do a more organized brunch in one of the conference rooms was very pricey for what we were getting.
