Nevada-Las Vegas

Scouting trip reviews... It's alot. LOL!!

Hi Ladies,

It has been awhile since I have been here but school is back in session so it has been hectic. We just cam back from a 5 day trip to Vegas. We also had our engagement pics done at the neon museum so it was a total blast. I will post the reviews of what I can think of and if I forget anything I will com back and post.

Wynn Las Vegas Parlor Suite- A++++++
I have never stayed in a suite so nice in my life. If I could afford to live there I totally would. It was suite 5806, and on the 58th floor. The views of the mountains were amazing. Our suite looked down directly over the pool and golf course. The bathroom is bigger than my bedroom and stocked with every possible thing you could ever imagine. The people in the tower suites and the hotel are by far the friendliest I have ever dealt with in my life. The beds there are a dream. Honestly ladies if you are getting married there seriously consider the splurge. IT is serious opulence. We also ran into Lil Jon who was hosting at Blush Wednesday and Thursday. That was fun. The Wynn is amazing....nuff said.

The buffet at Wynn- A+
I have seriously never seen sooooo much  food in my life. The reason I am writing a review on them is because when you first walk in to the buffet if you look right to the left there is a semi private room that I would guess could hold about 15 people. So it would be an option to anyone having a small wedding for dinner.

Max Brenners at the Forum shops in Ceasars- A+++++
Oh My God. We ate here twice. The food is amazing but the desserts... to die for. I had a turkey burger that was so good. The fries are dusted with cocoa powder and chili powder and freaking great! As far as the dessert... Anyway you can envision chocolate they can do it. We had a half of a chocolate pizza one time, and the second we had the sampler. Please go here. It is all dark wood and candles. Another reason I am writing about them, if you go upstairs here they have a totally private room that holds 15, and a semi private that holds 50. For a meet and greet or a semi  formal reception this place would be awesome. The only reason it is semi private is because the bathrooms are up there and down a hall. It has an awesome balcony where you would be looking over the forum shops too. Seriously check this place out. The food is really reasonable as well.

Francesca Lombardo of Bobbie Pin Beauty- A+++++
Francesca did my hair and make up for the engagement shoot. First off, she is the most receptive and prompt person to deal with. There are so many make up artists to choose from when you are planning a Las Vegas wedding, but she was so easy to work with. Let me tell you, I never wear makeup... ever. She did me up to bombshell status and it lasted all day. She does not use airbrush and I know alot of people prefer that but the make up she uses is so light and did not make me oily at all. She is easy to talk to and by the time we were done I was almost late for pictures. Francesca brings out the inner beauty and outer beauty as well. Her prices are so reasonable. If she is available book her!

Mike Lichtenwalner Photography- A++++++
You want to talk about nervous to take pics? FI and I are the most nervous people about it. We get the nervous laugh, I get tense, and it usually ends bad. We originally booked them for the wedding and decided to add on an engagement shoot. When we met them it was like instant best friends. They made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Mike was trying to take photos and I was blabbing with Courtney like we were old friends. Their phototography fits what you want, not some standard photos. It was their first time shooting at the neon museum and I am glad it was with us. By the end of the shoot I added a trash the dress as well. Also, being from Chicago when we were looking into getting married up here I was going to have to drop alot of money to have photos done. These two are so affordable!! What you get with Courtney and Mike is not only good photography, you get a team that care about what you want.

Neon Museum- A
I knew I wanted photos at the Neon Museum because they fit what we are looking for. If you are going to do any pics there do not email them because it takes forever to get in touch with them. Just call. They just recently opened back up because they are in a transitional phase where they are moving again. It is a really cool place to see the history of Vegas. Bit of advice, do not wear open toe shoes there. It is all fine gravel an will hurt your feet. LOL.

Gimme Some Sugar- A for being great so far.
We actually met with them on Tuesday when we got in because they were doing something crazy like 50 cakes for 10-10-10. I felt bad even calling them to ask to meet. They were both so accomodating. Their cake is freaking amazing. My FI was sold. It was totally reasonable for a 3 tier cake and my FI was happy to try everything they offered. Even though they had all that work to do they did not make us feel rushed at all.

    One Last one....

Mandalay Bay Wedding Chapel. A+ so far.
Our wedding coordinator is Aleena. We actually booked Swan Court and wanted to see it since we had only seen pictures. They were in the process of remodeling Auerole so she could not show it to us. So we went back last night to see it. How amazing. I wanted it to be outdoors and the 4 swans with the fountain is really beautiful. There is a little noise from the pool, but it is not bad at all. I could barely hear the music. I am really excited about getting married there. It is a beautiful venue. Aleena is really easy to work with and again I have to give her props becuase she had 51 weddings this week and took time to meet with us.

Overall the trip was great and I can not wait for our pictures. Now to wait the 7 months until the wedding....

Also Stripburger vs. Burger Bar.... Stripburger wins! LOL.

It was really cool to be there this week. Pretty much everywhere we went there was a bride. It was so cool. At one point by the Bellagio fountains I counted 3. LOL. We also did a bunch more stuff, if I think of anything else wedding relevant I will let you know.

Aleena is our WC as well and I've seen reviews on every other WC at MB, except for her.  Glad to hear you had a good experience with her!  I'm going down next weekend for a scouting trip as well for my April wedding.  Thanks for the reviews!

    Hi Wiwi!

We found a huge "mistake" on priceline and they honored it. We actually only paid 100 a night, so it was VEEEEERRRRYYYY cheap. But when we were checking in to the tower suites there was another couple who had booked a room on the tower side and they were offered an upgrade to a parlor suite for 150 a night. So if you find a good deal on the tower rooms it could come out to around 350 a night. Also, for some dates when I check priceline I see a rate of 300 a night. Wiwi if you are getting married at the Wynn try to get the room. The bathroom had a huge soaking tub, a huge vanity, two sinks and a closet bigger than mine at home. When Francesca came to do my makeup she was happy to have all the room. I am not kidding when I say that you and 6 of your bridal party could get ready in there together. Also with any room in the tower suites you get free valet, seperate check in, 4 items per day steamed, nightly turn down service, and maid service twice a day. My FI and I joked that we will never be able to stay in Vegas in a regular room again. It was amazing.

Another tip is to find out if the hotel is at max occupancy. If they are not you are more likely to get the parlor offered as an upgrade which is a much better deal than booking outright.

    Berni,

I would wear sneakers and change. Don't wear flip flops or open toes and try to walk around. It is super dusty. If you want any pics sitting make sure you bring something to sit on. You can not lean on the signs or sit on them. The ground is also really soft so my heel kept sinking. I wore a pair of black open toed sandals and they were white and dusty. LOL.

I used Mike L, and I can not wait to see some of the pics. They did a bunch of panorama shots with the old Stardust sign, those are the one I can not wait for.

One more tip... Make sure you get there about 20 minutes early. Your photographer has sign a waiver and then you have to drive across the street to the museum. You want to make sure you get your whole hour!

Oh Berni! You are from Chicago too! When are you going to do the pictures? Mike and Courtney said our blog should be up within two weeks, so I will let you guys know.

tbattaglia- Invest in the neon museum. The pics really are going to turn out unique and I can not wait. It really has that vintage feel. You are your FI will love it.

Now I can not wait until MAy to go for the wedding and the TTD. LOL
