The rebranding/renaming should be complete by Christmas with the casino, retail and lobby renovations completed by the end of 2013.

'The Quad will bring a renovated casino, check-in desk, dining and retail outlets to the aging hotel so, basically, expect an entirely new resort. Except for its dealertainers and car collection. Pulse of Vegas says those will stay around. And, side note, we feel much more comfortable using the "r" word in conjunction with that stretch of Strip real estate now."

'The casino floor will expand an additional 15,000 square feet engulfing the former Imperial Palace porte cochere and a nightclub and gift shop. The first phase of casino renovations will include 35,000 square feet, including the expansion, and is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2013. The second phase will include an additional 30,000 square feet of gaming space with a centralized promenade bar featuring state-of-the-art integrated audio-visual technology. This phase is scheduled for completion in late 2013."

My WC assured me not to worry about the construction etc and I already paid for and ordered the darn invites that say Imperial Palace.  GGGRRRR.  I don't care about construction goin on in and around the hotel, meh.  But that sucks that I already got our invites.  That'll teach me

I thought the name change was happening sometime this year or end of the year since they were only leasing it through this year... Who knows! I heard they were changing the name, but can't say I love this new one. Hopefully it remains a reasonably priced location for continued guests.. With some upgrades

I wonder how the price of their rooms will rise? It's SUPER cheap now to go to IP! I know the rooms kinda suck but if you don't care about that, it's an awesome deal! And because of The Quad, I'm wondering if the price at Harrah's and Flamigo will rise too? I hope not...

PnutButr I asked WC about it, and as mentioned above, I was told that it would not affect the chapel itself or chapel operations during construction... Our wedding should be right after it's suppose to be done. Cross fingers!

Frick!  I took advantage of a coupon code for my invites and had them printed already for my March Wedding!  I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope it doesn't affect me.

Vireyda - Do you have a wedding website? Perhaps there, or through word of mouth, you can let guests know of the name change "IF" it changes before then...

Soooo now it is going to be part of Caesars Entertainment... does that mean a change to the rules re: outside vendors etc?  I think that if anyone is considering IP at this point for the chapel, get the contract locked in before they can change it to comply with their other rules.

Too bad about the change though, I liked the look and overall idea of the Imperial Palace...

I agree. That is partially why I booked my date so early is because I wasn't sure if they would raise the prices (with the hotel upgrades and The Linq) and change any policies. Aside from the IP a la carte option, I made sure to lock in on the contract that we are paying the outside vendor fee for photography. I am considering including a few of the add-ons that are must have's for us ASAP in case prices raise. The video and web-viewing options are already higher than what their PDF online says... May not happen, but didn't want to chance it.

It doesn't say anywhere though about upgrading the actual rooms, so maybe they are just upgrading the more "public" areas at the hotel? I was hoping they would do what Flamingo did and upgrade at least some room so you can chose between the two - keep some reasonably priced and then have some upgrade options. We shall see...

Me too.  I emailed my WC to double check on when the name change will happen.  I was thinking about either re-printing which would suck :(  or putting  little insert in with the new name and an * next to 'Imperial Palace'.  Most my guests know where IP is/was but a few haven't been to Vegas in a long time and might get confused. Already booked my room (and my grandparents room) and I don't care about construction down in the casino etc- just make sure guest know so they can allot enough time to get through any road construction and find the chapel.

It's just frustrating.  Most of my guests have never been to Vegas before, so I have some concern about confusion.  I might borrow FrankensteinsGirl's insert idea too.  I'm going to e-mail my coordinator when I get home from work this evening.  Maybe I'm just worried for nothing...*crosses figer*.

Normally my wc gets back to me within a day...I haven't heard anything yet so let me know if you hear from yours.  I'm quite certain the name change will happen this year. :(

Maybe call the chapel? Whoever answers may know... My WC has emailed me recently about other inquiries but it was a day or two later than usual because they've been so busy last few weekends. Maybe they're all in "catchup" mode...

I heard from my coordinator last night and she said the name change will be made December 21 of this year.  Boo.  The perfectionist in me is screaming to get my invites re-printed now.  I think I'll wait a little before I figure out what I want to do though.

How much of a deal did you get on the invites? Perhaps another great deal will come up soon (if you feel the need to reprint)...

Are you sending out the invites before or after the name change? If you are sending them out before, perhaps you can just do the website or insert idea and indicate that what is "now" known as the Imperial Palace will become The Quad Resort & Casino as of the end of this year. That way they know it hasn't changed yet but that it will (for trip researching purposes) by the time of the wedding.

I paid $52 for my first set of invites with a coupon code.  I'm sure another will come along - Zazzle's pretty good that way.   I need to figure out if I can pull the existing invites off the panel pockets first though.  If I can't remove them without damaging the panel pockets I'm not going to bother re-printing and I'll just add an insert card and put an update on the website.

I was originally going to mail the invites at the end of December.  Would mailing them at the beginning of December (ahead of the name change) be too early for a March 28 wedding?

I was just coming on to say the same thing- WC emailed last night stating it will change Dec 21st.    I want to re-print too.  I spend just about the same on mine and although it's 'only' $50 or so I really don't want to have to! LOL I'm waiting to see but I'll prob just put it on the website and then do a small insert with a AKA The Quad or some such crap. Boo! LOL

I think because it is a destination wedding, some people send them on the more traditional timeline, while others send them out sooner. You can go either way.

I was just thinking that if you sent them out before the name change, technically the name hasn't changed yet and could just do an FYI that the change will occur before the wedding... if you really don't want to pay for re-printing which I understand because it is an expense still made
