Rose Ceremony

Anyone ever done one? We are doing one instead of the Unity Candle or Sand Ceremony.  If so, how did it work exactly?  Did you put something in your program explaining it and its meaning so your guests knew what was going on?

We did a rose ceremony where we presented roses to our moms and grandma. Is this what your talking about?

this is where I got the idea.  I know it gives lots of ideas. I'm just trying to find out if anyone has done it before and how it worked out. We are going to take our roses and instead of putting them in the vase I will give mine to my MIL and Fi will give his to my mom, as we are leaving the ceremony.

I'm confused because it sounds like you're doing this backward. If the roses are going together in a vase, why are you going to then separate them back out? That doesn't seem to hold with the 'unity' idea of a wedding.

That's why I asked about it.  It's not a replacement for a unity ceremony.
