The Flamingo

HI All,
I havent seen much on here about The Flamingo wedding ceremonies. We are looking at having ours at the West Lawn Gazebo... and have all but booked it... but am starting to get confused at all of the information they are sending me... and what seems to be an infelxibility with their packages. I am NOT using their photogropher (have already booked B&W).... but to get the West Lawn location I have to pay for a package that includes their photogropher... and then pay $150 to use my own on top!

To be honest, Im all but set on this location, but just want your ideas / thoughts / opinions!

Re: The Flamingo

  • You will probably get that outside vendor fee to use your own photog any where you go.. so although its annoying.. I think it will be worth it. If you love the location, book it. Most hotels and chapels arent flexible with their packages.. and some wont allow an outside photographer even for an extra fee.

<div>Yeah I'm pretty positive all the venues have outside photographer fees. From what I heard CP charges anywhere from $200-$350 I believe. We didn't want to pay the extra fee so we're using Todd for formals, first look, strip tour, and part of the reception.</div><div>
</div><div>I think the Flamingo chapels are really nice but their indoor chapel wasn't big enough for us and I prefer the Caesars Palace outdoor venues more for some reason. There are quite a few knotties who got married at The Flamingo. :)</div>
  • Yep, the unfortunate reality is that amongst most strip resorts, even having the option to pay to use your own photog is not that common so we're lucky some places still do that.

  • Thanks Guys... looks like its the norm in Vegas and I should just get over it... we are coming form Australia... so just getting to Las Vegas is costing us almost half our budget... so I am trying not to get ripped off!

<div>I know what you mean. I just ended up going with a package at Caesars that included about 20 prints from the ceremony as I know buying them is going to be extremely expensive. However I might buy 1 bigger one, I'm not sure yet.</div>
  • I received information from the Flamingo as well (not looking at West Lawn though), and that is how it read to me as well. If you want the West Lawn, then you have to have a photo package. That one seems to have the most restrictions. If you love the space enough, it looks like you may need to just pay for a photo package with them and seperately for the outside photographer. Pricey, but as people have mentioned, at least they allow the outside photographers. Just get the cheapest package you can get with the Flamingo. Good luck with your planning!

We are getting married at the Flamingo in October and we are bringing in our own photographer. We had to pay the $150 fee, but honestly I think it will be worth it. Pictures are one of the most important parts of the wedding to me and I don't want them to be rushed or cheesy :)
  • I am getting married at VoTF at Mb and WISHHHH I had the option to pay $150 for our hired photographer (Joey Allen) to shoot the photos.
  • I'm getting married at the Flammingo in a few weeks. We are bringing our own photographer and paid the fee. You still have to pay for the package which includes photos so we are using both photographers for the actually ceremony and then just having ours take all the family photos afterwords. Side note: Depending on how many people you are having you should consider the garden gazebo chapel because the West Lawn is in a open area where the public can watch. They don't show that in their advertisements but the Garden Gazebo is tucked away in the shade and is fairly private. Just a heads up :). Both Gazebos are very beautiful.

I got married at the Flamingo in 2010, I am from Scotland had booked the West Lawn having never been to Vegas. We only arrived 3days before and when I went to hand in the marriage license I almost had a panic attack as I had no idea just how public it was. It is overlooked by the bar and is a lot closer to the paths than I'd expected. I spoke to them straight away and luckily the Gazebo Chapel was available. It is beside the pool but our ceremony was late in the day around 6.30pm so the pool was closed. I loved it and it felt really secluded. I am not wanting to scare u off, but i wish some had warned me first. Re packages I don't remember if I had to pay for a package that included photography, but I did pay the vendor fee and got Todd from BentleyWilson ingreat decision. Even if I do say so myself. Unfortunately the chapels in Vegas don't seem to be too bothered about taking as much money from u as they can!! Good luck though! I only came on here for a nosey as I had a cocktail in my Flamingo champagne flute this evening!
