Gift Question

What is the proper way to handle check gifts that are given before the wedding? I'm not going to go spend it or anything but I don't know if it's a good thing hang on to it for over a month before I deposit it. I don't want anyone to forget about it forget about it and end up overdrafting when I do deposit it. Do I just put it in savings?

    We actually cashed ours and kept them in a safe until after the wedding. If you're depositing them, I'd probably put them into savings :) But def. handle that now, just don't spend until after the wedding.

    Send the thank you note, wait a day or two, cash/deposit the check.  Wait until after the wedding to use the $.
