What are you doing that's over the top?

There's always that something special that makes a wedding unique and different.  I was just wondering what others are doing.  One item we are doing is a very detailed and customized cake (imagine the ones on those cake shows on TV).  Anyone else doing this or something else unexpected?

Hi! We chose a place that was really special to us for our reception, that probably not too many people will get married at- our friend's farm. That way every time we go out there we'll remember our wedding.

So... farms aren't that unique I suppose but it was special to us. We're also having people write well-wishes on bottles of wine for our first five anniversaries, instead of a guest book.

    Your cake sounds super fun!

CJ4578 - I thnk a farm is outside of the box; it's not the first place you would think of for a wedding.  And I love the idea of writing messages on a bottle!  Alternative guestbook ieas are great!  I saw one couple on TV who did an arrow sign with the cities their guests were coming from with the miles from the wedding site and had them sign that.  Very unique.
