Hey ladies, I have Todd from Bently and Wilson booked which I am very excited about. Many of the girls are talking about their must take photos and I am just really not sure that I want to put together a list. Any of you that used Todd did you do a list and could I see his photos from your wedding. I have checked his website numerous times and love the pictures so I am not really worried. I am an artist so giving him a list makes me feel a bit like I am telling the artist to check his artistry at the door by giving him the list.

We used Todd, I gave him about 8-10 I really liked but basically told him to do what he does best and that I liked angles and less posed shots.  I loved what we got back.www.picasaweb.google.com/MillersInVegas (There are 2 folders in there from Todd)

I don't think I'm going to give him photos. I will say the group shots that I want and know that I want photos in particular places (eg the sign, Bellagio fountains etc) but I feel that recreating other peoples pictures takes away some of the sponteneity.A photo will mean much more to me if it's a record of an actual moment we had rather then a set-up of something I saw someone else do.I understand why people have particular shots that they like, but for me I think it's better to follow the natural flow of the day

I'm giving him a list of specific family shots that I want. Such as, my mom's side, the cousins, immediate family etc... I'm doing that to #1 make sure that everyone is included and #2 to help expediate the family photos. Other than those, I want him to do what he wants.

We gave him a list of types of shot we wanted but not any actual example shots. Our direction to him was more related to the content in the shot or the locations versus style, so I didn't feel like we were being too prescriptive. We also let Todd know we were open to his ideas and suggestions for poses, locations etc. Todd's own ideas ended up being some of my favorites but I'm glad I did a list too because then I could relax and not worry if he was getting all the shots I wanted. If nothing else, I highly recommend doing a list for your family group photos and recruiting a friend or family member to help with rounding up the different groupings. That allowed our group session to go very fast. HTH pics are in my married bio. Good luck!

I gave him a short list of pictures I wanted to make sure got in there.IE:  Marriage licence with rings, the brides shoes, any detail shots he can get, (favors/flowers/cake/jewlery etc), bride with sisters, bride with FIL,  just the groom, etc. Not really telling him "this is how I want it to look" artistically he was going to do what he was going to do but I wanted to make sure my shoe shot didn't get lost in the shuffle of the day.   lol

I am not giving him a list I cant control everything and to be honest trying to control everything is really starting to stress me out now! x

We used him for our engagement photos and we have him booked for the wedding (this weekend omg) as well.For the engagement photos, I pretty much left things up to him. I did have a few things I wanted and he was really cool about making sure we got those shots. Remember, it is "your day" and he is someone that you hired to do a job for you. He is really a great guy though and I wouldn't worry about offended him by giving him a list of must-take shots. Make sure you get what you want so you don't regret it later!

I didn't really give him a list (I meant to - and never got around to it). And we love our pictures....but if I had to do over, I would give him the list.We just didn't end up with many pictures of my mother and I or some of the more interesting Vegas pictures. I love what we have, and some of it was me requesting "hey can we take a shot here" along the way....Even if the list is short - you won't miss out on anything and it really does help them get an idea of what you want.
