paying at cupake lane bakery?

Hi all as you know you have all pursuaded me to go with the cupcakes, I need to ring them up and make the payment over the phone, orgianlly they wantyed me to send my detail, card details via email with the number on the back, this makes me feel really funny!Now they have said I can ring up on the phone and they will process it, I have done this many times in the Uk without even thinking of it, Though I feel really funny about doing this from such distance. Any ideas ladies should I use my credit card to protect it etc??I told you all I cannot make decisions! Sorry xx

i am in the u.s., but did do that with the bakery i hired for my vegas wedding.no problems. you may want to double check your credit card policies, just in case something were to go wrong. my bank has a very good policy and will immediately reverse charges while an investigation is ongoing if i were to have such problems.i would not send my info in an e-mail though! yikes. also ask if there is another payment option available, such as paypal...that is how i paid my photog. chapel was paid  their deposit over the phone...again no problems. i think i will mail them a check for the rest though.

What about sending a certified check? I don't know if that's an option since you're outside the US though. That's what I did for a lot of my vendors. We're in Philadelphia and I def. did not want to email my credit card info. either. Every place has been good with this.
