POLL: are you wearing your dress all night?

A spin off from my earlier post. will you be changing into a more comfy cute dress after the reception or wearing your wedding gown all night? If your are wearing your gown all night- is it a full blown bridal gown or a light, flowy destination type dress? I haven't decided, hence, the poll.

I thought about this long and hard, of course got some knottie advice, and ultimately decided that I am going to wear my big, poofy wedding dress all night. We're going to a night club after the reception. I figure that I paid enough for it and I only get to wear it once, so it might as well get some use.

This wasn't even a question...I am DEF. wearing my wedding dress all nite long. It's my wedding day...all day and all nite. I want everyone to know I got married wherever I go. hahaha. Plus, what's more fun than partying in "the dress".....

I bought a short white dress to wear after the reception when we go bar hopping.  My actual ceremony dress isn't huge and poofy, so if I'm feeling comfortable enough, I might stick with it for the whole night. But I'll still have my back-up short dress in case I change my mind.

Don't have the dress yet but regardless I will be wearing it all night. During our last trip when I saw a bride in her BIG gown late at night sitting at a slot machine with her husband standing next to her holding her shoes - I thought to myself that is SOOOO going to be me someday :)

I'm looking for a white cocktail dress to take just incase I'm too uncomfortable in my gown or we go somewhere I really don't want to wear it. If I feel comfy enough I'll leave my dress on all night and keep the other one for a night out in San Francisco!

I'm wearing mine all night! It's not all the time you can get away with something like that, and I'm NEVER wearing it again, so I might as well have some fun.

I guess I am the oddball. I hadn't planned on wearing my wedding dress through the whole reception let alone after the reception. I wanted to change after the cake cutting into something more comfortable for dancing. You ladies have given me something to think about though regarding why I would want to wear it the whole night.

I  plan on  having a single dress. But I'm not planning on doing the strip thing or a club or walking the strip, local here. But if I were to plan on those things, I deff would be changing. Esp if i were to be going out to a club. So, I would take a look at what you planned on doing.  Have a back up dress like the other knottie suggested. Clubs get nasty hot, as well as the strip during certain times of the year. YOu're right, you do want to look good and keep your dress on, but why sacrifice comfort and a good time. Where it according to what you are doing..

My dress was big and poofy, but after the reception we went back to our room and changed. It was so heavy and I was so uncomfortable. I changed into jeans, my Bride '09 tshirt and my veil and we walked around a bit along the strip running into people and saying goodbye since a lot of guests left the day after the wedding.

I will be wearing my dress until after the reception. I need to find a white cocktail dress to go to the club in. If I was not going to a club I would wear my dress all night long.

I will be wearing mine till we go to the room and pass out.  We are older and not going to a club gonna do pictures in a few spots and we are only having snacks and the cake at the wedding & reception then gonna go to dinner with whomever wants to go with us. I am gonna wear my dress as long as I can as it is the only time I am going to be wearing it.  I love seeing the brides on the strip it is fun and it makes others dream of their special day.  Ps am a local as well!

I changed into mine when we got back to the hotel. It was fun walking through the lobby wearing it though, at least 20 people yelled out Congratulations! But we were going to Carnaval Court (outside bar at Harrah's) afterwards and my mom said she wouldn't allow me to wear it :) I didn't want to anyways. By that point it had been stepped on a couple times and the bustle was ripped so it was kind of dragging behind me. I don't think that would have worked well with the misters and spilled drinks all over the floor. :)
