Opinions WELCOMED and NEEDED!

Ok, so originally when all this planning began I chose the Eiffel Tower Restraunt for our after wedding dinner, I have had great correspondence with the event director, we even decided to have their pastry chef make our two-tiered wedding cake cor 210.00 ( First question) Is that about right for a two tiered cake? When I was emailed the contract, I was told that the deposit was going to be 210.00, sooooo my thought is basically I'm paying for the cake ahead of time??? Then as the wheels got to turning...I asked if they had a course menu we could choose from instead of ordering a la carte, and I was told that since it's just the two of us we should just order a la carte.  Does this sound about right?? I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed and we don't even have guest!!! So I need some outside opinions!!! Thanks in Advance!!!

Hiya, I am not sure about the cake as I didnt have a cake in Vegas, only in the UK, but in regards to the restaurant I have eaten there 3 times and the food is just amazing, you will not regret eating there!  For the two of us, with a bottle of wine our meal was about $180, it might seem a bit scary the prospect of ordering a la carte but I think that may be the best option as the menu is brilliant, so it will be nice to have a choice!  Make a special request for a window seat, my husband lied and said it was our anniversary so we got one and you can watch the fountains for the whole of dinner, its fab! xx

We are paying $235 (incl $50 delivery) from Cake Designs for a 2-tier cake which feeds 33-35 people. The cake itself is less but we are having a couple of dozen chocolate covered strawberries added. I think $210 sounds about right for a cake from a restaurant And I think a la carte sounds fabulous!

For 2 people, a la carte is appropriate & the cake is likely on par for a restaurant price.   Double check that your deposit is for the cake price and not just $210 towards your meal (which may not even be that high) and you'll still owe the $210 cake fee later.... although with wine, steaks, etc you'll likely be up there anyway but I'd want to know up front because I'm tight. LOL

FI and I were just in Vegas and had a nice dinner at the resturant. You will not be dissapointed. They did have a preset menu that we were able to order off of, and it was fabulous. For the two of us and a bottle of wine and tip was $320. Not bad if you ask me. I think the best part of our meal was the rack of lamb and the desert OMG dessert was insanly wonderful! But as to your quesion $210 sounds resonable just makesure its not a deposit.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but why are you bothering to have a cake when you have no guests?

Eh, sounds like you want a tasting menu. Some places do that on request. Who did you ask about the menu. Tasting menus are great because you get a little bit of many things.I would call the restaurant itself and speak with GM. Ask if the Chef will prepare a tasting menu seeing that it is your  wedding dinner and it is a special night. Maybe a 5 or 7 course tasting will be fitting.  I just looked at the website and they do have a tasting menu. Did you not look at the site? It's a 6 course for $89 for complete tables. Which means that everyone has to order the tasting. And you can have wine pairing for $69.  So that's $258 for your food and wine.
