I just wanted to tell you gals....How much I appreciate that this is such a giving group! I have been noticing on "other boards" and on "Facebook/Wedding Book", how many brides complain about a MOH, friend, etc....taking there ideas, colors, vendors, etc....and I just want to say to them "OMG, you day will be different, no matter what!" LOL...Sorry, just noticing it ALOT in the past few days, and I just wanted to thank those of you who so generously give us ideas and send out MASS e-mails to all of us that love your idea:) April:)

April, I couldn't agree more! I wish I would've 'joined' this board earlier to be honest. I had posted a question or two on other boards at first and some of the responses weren't so "nice." Finally finding this board has been amazing! I've gotten so many good ideas and suggestions and reviews and I honestly feel my wedding is going to be even more spectacular because of it. Nope not yet!! I have one that I have tried on and LOVE, but have not posted pic's yet, because I want to make sure FI do not see the "actual" dress until the day (need to post them in a diff area)...When I go in to get the dress, I will make sure and post pic's...Any pic's of your dress?

im organised becasue i just have two guests coming with us, i would be stressing if i had alot more, i dont know how you girls do it with all these guests.there isnt much else to sort now, just booked tickets this morning for Phantom of the opera for NYC.Paid the rest of money to Todd and the TI chapel. everything is in vegas now

I have to agree. I read other boards and they tend to stress me out. This one seems the most laid back and calm.

we did ask a few more but becasue we are coming from the uk its an expensive hols.the lad who is coming with us has been to vegas before and his girlf my bridesmaid is a vegas virgin.we get on brilliant so i will be brilliant and they have fittied in with what we wnat to do so thats great.

I wasnt going to pay for wedding in the uk and pay for all the food , i have spent alot of money on everythnig for wedding/honeymoon. and there was no way i was going to give that up for a wedding in the uk.my sept sister is getting married in 4 weeks time in a castle and the cost is the same for my wedding/honeymoon but they only one day to show for it. and arent even going on honeymoon.

I am a California girl!! The nice thing is I am not to far from Vegas (3 1/2 hours) and it has made it a little easier, because FI likes to go to Vegas, so I get in a little extra scouting time!

in 2007 i spent 2 weeks in californa my fav state i would love to move there.i spent 3 weeks in san diego when i was 12 and visiting LA  for 3 ngihts on our honeymoon.Yosemite park  would be lovely for a honeymoon.i am planning on visiting californa again in the future and hire a car and do down the coast.

Yep! I love it here, so much diversity, you can go to the beach, be in a "big city", go camping, etc... San Diego is one of my Fav's!! I would love to move there......The drive along the coast lines is great! Especially if you want to go and do wine tasting, you can get the best of both worlds

Ha! The plan was that it was just the two of us, but now we're up to 20.  Never tell anyone you're going to get married in Vegas- they ALL want to go! On the bright side, we're essentially planning it as if no one else is coming. We're not hosting a reception, but a not-hosted dinner will be held afterward, if anyone wants to go have italian.  It's all working out quite well.

karma007 - Haha! I know! I have had either the "GREAT" response or the usual "Vegas??" and those I ignore! and just focuse on the people who are excited:) At my friends wedding last month in Vegas, she just had us all meet up for a "no-host" dinner and everyone had a blast! Good plan...

Thanks! We're trying to buy a house right now, so a wedding wasn't in the budget. I did consider an in-suite, but thought that FI and I would have more fun going out; if everyone would rather go see a show or something they are welcome to, but I will be bribing them with chocolate cake ala LV Cake Designs. FI and I will do a photo tour, just the two of us, and there will be mucho drinking. There's no other group event s scheduled, other that those that may occur naturally. And Sunday at 12:00, the Karma's are on their 2-day honeymoom, so get out!I can't wait!!!

karma007- Totally understand that! We bought our house about 6 months ago! and I still have soooo much decorating, etc., to do that I am keeping the wedding small! I want my house done more than spending $$$$, hehe, even though some days...

I agree- I love how supportive everyone is on here and how keen you ladies are to share ideas and recommendations! Whenever I find something new I automatically consider whether people on here would be interested. Every individual has their own take on an idea anyway so no 2 would be the same. I personally am looking forward to coming back here with all of my reviews because I know how past brides have helped me with my planning and I think it's important to pay it forward!

stinker, how many people are you inviting? I will admit to having favors to be handed out at the ceremony (but no oot bags or anything). Rolls of nickels wrapped in ribbon and what we refer to as 'granny fabrics' (stripes and florals- the whole vibe is 40's retro, like if your gramma went to elope). The cake will be a simple yellow with chocolate fudge, all swirly like on the Duncan Hines box (FI's fave). We are not touching savings, unless I lose my job (I'm a temp). We've paid cash for everything, so all that is left is spending money. Including air and hotel, we're at about $2500 right now- awesome!!!

karma007 - We have invited approx 30, but we are doing and In-Suite Rec., so that is how I am cutting the cost (if were to keep it at "home" the numbers would climb into the 100+ mark)Ray_Ray - Yep! I love when I run across an idea to share:)
