UK Bride. I need suggestions for a resonably priced reception venue!

Hi Girls, I am a uk bride trying to organise my wedding in vegas!! I am getting married in the Mandalay, staying at the Excalibur. We are approx 25-30 of us. I am looking for somewhere to have our wedding reception that wont be more than approx $40 per head. Is this asking too much?? I dont reallly want to have a eat as much as you want buffet. The place has to be child friendly as we have 3 chidren with us. Private dining or semi dining I would prefer! Any suggetsions would be greatly appreciated as i dont have a clue where to go!!! Thanks Girls!!! What is Battista hole in the wall like??? I would also like to have a dj/elvis impersonator if the venue would allow!! Please HELP I am really struggling!!!! xxx

Welcome! A lot of the girls use Maggiano's.....you might want to consider doing Lunch, if you want to keep it under the $40 mark. I decided to just do a In-Suite Reception to help keep the $$$ down....The Planet Hollywood Restaurant had a pretty good per person price, I think I still have the price list if you would like me to e-mail it...Hope that helps:)

I think Maggiano's lunch menu would fit that budget and from what I remember hearing about Battista it is nice and reasonably priced too. As Thrash said we are doing an insuite at Mandalay Bay. It's working out that we are paying about $45/$50 pp for catering and bar service, plus you have the price of the suite on top. I'm sure you can do it for less per head than that- I think we just picked expensive food ha ha! It still worked out better for us to do an insuite though with a small group as the minimums for the places that we wanted were ridiculous, plus we like the fact that people are free to mingle for the whole receptionAnd I think most places would allow an Elvis impersonator. Maggianos has an ipod docking station that you can use, which would save you money on a DJHave you looked at the Vegas FAQ and at the Knottie list for bios? They can be really usefeul

Excalibur has ball rooms and although I can't remember the exact cost, I think it was a $40 per person minimum. Of course, that was a year ago. Also, the Excalibur's buffet (the roundtable, I believe) will also coordinate wedding receptions. It was under $40 per person, but thier cake price was pretty steep and you were limited to 3 designs.Coordinators at both locations were very pleasant to work with and I just dropped an e-mail through the Web site. They sent me a few proposals, trying to get it within my costs. We ended up not doing a reception there because we just couldn't come up with the nos. and costs. We are doing an insuite receptionm cocktails and cake. We originally had it planned for Mandalay Bay but switched to Planet Hollywood because of a $500 savings in room rates.

Thanks girls this is of great help, I will look into your suggestions!Ray_Ray, I am from Wales! how about you??? I was considering an in-suite but was worried it would go one way or another..ie be really good fun or could be a bit "flat" Im too frightened to take the plunge ha! I have also looked at Maggianos but thought the prices were over $40, I will have another look and maybe email them my budget. Ive also noticed that most place only give you 4hours I wanted somewhere you could stay untill the end. Im getting married at 2, then 2 hour strip tour, so looking at having my reception about 5-6pm. Thanks girls am going to look at the Vegas FAQs and some bios!!! Its just sooo hard deciding!!!

Hi marieMaggianos would be a good option for you,  and if you have your reception starting at 6, 4 hours that gives you to 10, and after the ones who have the kids will proably finish up and head back to their hotels and others , you could just go to another bar, maybe in the wynn seen as its oppsite.have you got a photographer sorted?or make artist?

I had a couple of panics about people getting bored at the reception but I'm really looking forward to it now! I don't think any of the girls on here have had a bad time. It's a tough decision though I'm from Portsmouth

Hi there!  For a wedding reception, any restaurant on the strip would be my best recommendation.  I had my wedding in Henderson, which is off the strip!  Have you found a make up artist yet?  Because I know of a great one!!xxo.

Hey! I was a UK bride and had a similar number of guests to you, feel free to check out my bio's for any inspiration!  We considered Maggiano's before we decided on Wynn and they were so helpful and really great to deal with, plus they get brill reviews from everyone on here. Some of our party had dinner there one night and said the food was fantastic, I was worried about planning my wedding from so far away but it turned out to be so easy! xxx
