The Mrs is in the house!

Hi everyone! I am back and married. Just wanted to drop in and say hi. Everything was super, but things did go wrong. Just went with the flow and it all turned out fine, I hope to have detailed reviews soon. One thing I will say- I will never ever recommend the Mandalay Bay to anyone ever. The customer service was horrendous and quite frankly the Vista Suite is really not all that. I think if I had actually seen it for myself before, I would not have bothered with it. More to come, hopefully with pics.

Oh no! Can you tell us more about Mandalay Bay when you have a chance? Im getting married there in a couple of weeks. I have stayed there before, and don't remember anything too bad. Was there something specific with the customer service I should look out for?

My issue with the Mandalay Bay is based on how they treated my sister, who needed a wheelchair from the room to the valet area.  My sister usually uses a wheelchair which she could not take on the trip to Vegas. The Vista Suite is was waaaaaay down the end of the hall.  My able bodied guests were taken aback by the walk.  It would take forever to walk on crutches to the elveator and then through the casino to the valet area.   My WC called ahead to request one.  They gave her a hard time at first, a runaround basically calling all different departments.  Finally, we got through to the right area, and requested a wheelchair escort for 4:15PM.   Well, as you can guess, my sister had to walk it because the chair never made it.  My wedding was delayed by 40 minutes.  I had to pay extra for the bus going over and for my showgirl who waited around for us to arrive. The Mandalay Bay had wheelchairs around.  There were two at the bell desk when my part went past.  When asked why we couldn't use one for a few minutes, they said it wasn't their worry.  The concierge was less than helpful and basically didn't give a damn.  We were told that we could rent one if we wanted for the day.  I believe about ten different people from my party told off anyone connected with this, especially when my 40 year old sister broke down in tears because she was hurting and tired and upset that we were running late.Oh, the complimentary wheelchair escort did show up- at five to five.Management was less than pleased about this whole fiasco, and we dealt with them the following day, but it was really too late.Like I said, the way we were treated was awful.  The Vista Suite itself is really nothing extraordinarily spectacular.  It's just big and has has space.  Oh, and every now and then you could hear the airplanes taking off from the airport.

I'm sorry to hear about the wheelchair fiasco.  It's too bad you didn't receive better service!  They didn't offer any other type of apology?Fwiw, there is more than 1 Vista Suite.  They have several actually, it's too bad yours was so far from the elevators. I don't think it's even crossed anyone's mind that it could be problem.  Good heads up for those future brides. Congrats on getting married & Welcome home. :)

Glad I asked. We have a guest coming who depends on a wheelchair, so I will start planning on that right away. Overall I hope your wedding was beautiful! I have learned that things never go exactly as planned! I was just at my nieces wedding, and although it was supposed to be beautiful weather it poured on us the whole time! We all looked like wet dogs, but they were married and very happy, so I guess thats all you can ask for! Looking forward to the rest of your reviews!

Congrats on getting married! I hope MB did or will do something to compensate you for all the trouble they caused.

Congrats! Sorry for your sisters fiasco! That is horrid.  In a town like this things like that shouldn't happen.  People amaze me sometimes with the lack of customer service. That is horrid!
