Playing with timeline

Well girls, I'm thinking of moving my ceremony back an hour from 2:30 to 3:30. At this point I have Todd booked for 3 hours between the ceremony and reception. The plan is to take some strip shots and then do 1 hour at the boneyard (if it is available - I won't know until FEB!). I'm thinking of shortening this to just 2 hours between ceremony/reception and taking some getting ready photos. It would look something like this: 2:00pm - getting ready shots at hotel (Bellagio) 3:00pm - leave for chapel of flowers 3:30pm - Ceremony and formal photos at chapel with their photog 4:15pm - Go to Vegas sign with Todd for more group shots 5:00pm - Strip photos 5:30pm - Boneyard or more strip photos depending on availability 6:30pm - back to hotel 7:00pm - Reception at Maggianos

How far away is the boneyard from the strip?  Because we did 2 hours with Todd for our strip tour and we hit the Vegas sign, Bellagio, Paris and that was all we had time for.  The traffic was bad and getting in and out of the limo and the posing for photos took time.  I was shocked at how fast the time went.  I really wanted to do photo's at New York New York (my dh is from there) but there was no time.  I just want you to have enough time to get everything you want done.  But I do love my getting ready shots and would not pass that up.  Good luck.

Hmmm....thanks for the info about how many places you were able to hit in 2 hours. I haven't really thought much about traffic and I'm really not sure how far away the boneyard is.

I knew there was going to be traffic but I was shocked at how much there was.  We also got married on a Friday night.  So our tour was from 4:30-6:30 right during traffic.  But we all went out the night before and it took us almost an hour to get from MB to PH.  Plus it took some time to get our photo's at the Vegas sign.  There was a line of people and we had to wait.  I would think people would see 2 people dress in wedding garb and a photographer would put us in front of the line.  No such luck.

I want to say the Boneyard was at least a 20 minute drive.

Where exactly is the boneyard located? Is it near Freemont Street?

For those who did strip tours between their ceremony and reception - did you factor in time to freshen up back at your hotel or did you just go directly from the strip tour to your reception?

The Boneyard is out toward the Cashman Center and it is 20 minutes from the strip, on a good day.  If you factor in traffic, during that time of the day, you may be looking at quite a bit longer.  Traffic on the strip is pretty bad and even taking some of the back roads is pretty congested.  We had two hours for a strip tour and only made it to MB, Bellagio, Vegas Sign before having to head back.  We were married at the Venetian and headed out around 3:40, did the tour and headed to Maggiano's around 5:40 so Todd could take pictures of the room.Definitely make sure that you factor in traffic and parking to your timeline.  Also, we had to wait for a little bit for the guys at the Boneyard to let us in.  He drove in from a different location (not sure if there is actually an office on site) and just had a key to unlock each of the two yards.  We did our Boneyard shoot two days later as a TTD because it was not going to work on our actual wedding day.
