FAVORS???

Ok...I have pretty much decided that I would like to do Playing Cards and Poker Chip's as our wedding favors....The problem I am having is that I don't want to spend a fortune on favors but if I do them....I want it to be nice! Any ideas on how to package them? or things that I could add that are not to expensive?TIA:) April

Tie a simple ribbon around the deck of cards? Personalized Decks usually run about $2 each and up depending on how many you order but you could just use regular cards in one of your wedding colors with a personalized ribbon instead....??  Poker chips, you could just have them placed by their plates at the reception? or in a basket and they can take what they like?  There are those take out containers online for as little as .39 cents if you wanted to package everything up. Double check the dimensions!

Those are adorable! She likely DIY'ed it.   Bought the items along the way... but yeah, not on the cheap either.  Also transporting them might be a pain.

Yeah she must have DIY, but tried to find the Suite Case?? Hummm....maybe I will post over there to see if anyone can tell me where to find because....no luck so far...

You could put a deck of cards and the poker chips in an organza bag. Make a little Thank You tag and tie it to the bag. I did something similar with chocolate poker chips that i put in a little organza bag.

Oh Yep.  I used the organza bags as well for our magnets... dollar store, baby!

Yep! Time for a "scouting" trip to the Dollar Store & Some of the Craft Stores....I found the "suite cases" (like in the Knot pic) and man! Expensive ($8 each??)! But soooo cute...

That is a really cute idea....but expensive is right! FI and I are opting out of wedding favors.

If you haven't bought your playing cards yet, at the Dollar Tree I found two decks of cards for $1. Here is the link if you are doing a lot of favors and want them shipped to your house: http://www.dollartree.com/catalog/search.cmd?form_state=searchForm&keyword=playing+cards# I plan on using lunch bags to throw everthing together. Maybe something like this but not exactly: http://www.betsywhite.com/flightsoffancy/index.php/2009/03/diy-download-paper-bag-favor-labels/

I am using cardboard boxes similar to this and either sticking fuschia ribbon to the outside or painting a fuschia glitter stripe to look like a ribbon. You can get them in all sorts of colourshttp://www.partybox.co.uk/children-party-products/Party-box-Black_6048.htm

I know sometimes you can hit up the pit bosses at the casinos to give you free playing cards that have been used already but have the casinos name on them. That's what we did and they were a hit, we also did a candy table which is a great alternative to favors.
