Charlotte Venue on a Budget

I am recently engaged and on the hunt for an affordable ceremony/reception location in Charlotte for our wedding with a tentative date of 11/17/12.  We are expecting about 75 people to attend and we'd like to keep it around $5000 for venue/food/alcohol.  We are fine with buffet or even heavy hors 'doeurves and open bar with beer and wine only.

We will look into Pewter Rose (for afternoon I suppose since they have a $7500 minimum for evenings), Bonterra Dining, Asbury Park Grove, and more.  Any comments about these venues?  Any suggestions for places to look into?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!!

We are having ours at Bonterra on 9/3.  I can't tell you how it will be but Melanie that works there has been so helpful, and we had a tasting a few weeks back and everything was delicious.  So I'm hoping it will be great!

welre having ours at asbury park grove and i couldnt be more excited.  i fell in love with the space...and for a smaller daytime wedding, i think it would be pretty affordable.

I rented a private residence in Denver NC thru VRBO.com  I got the mansion for one week for 1800, so the family is staying there too.  I can bring in my own caterer and buy my alcohol straight from total wine.  There are options out there with a little searching. My choice is great for hors doeurves or buffet, but not seated dinner.  I am having 50 guests here.

Check out St Marys Chapel - holds up to 100. Very quant and beautiful chapel operated by the county, you can bring in whoever you want to marry you. I'm not sure on price, but the Omni Hotel in uptown has a small dining room with window views of Charlotte.
