Vendor Reviews- long and detailed

I apologize for the delay.  I tried doing the website, but I'm working crazy hours at work so I don't have time to figure it out.   I'll post my reviews for now, and eventually have a married bio when I get more time.    Overall, I'd give our day an A with infinity pluses.  It was the best!Ceremony: Wynn Hotel A+++++++ Wedding Salons: We got married in the Lavendar Salon and had about 30 people with us.  We had been planning this for over a year, and I'm so happy that we spent the time to make sure everything was taken care of.  We had the Jewish wedding package, which included a rehearsal, which I'm glad that we had.   My parents are divorced and hadn't been in the same room for many years so it was needed to get that tension eased a bit the day before since they were both walking me down the aisle.   The wedding day was absolutely perfect.  My bouquet of about 30 black magic roses was delivered to my suite and it was stunning!  Mildred told me that she added diamonds to the bouquet to accent my dress, which looked great.   The Ketubah signing was warm and intimate.  I didn't want to see the salon decorated before the ceremony, but when the doors opened for me to walk down the aisle, I was amazed at how beautiful the room looked.   The flower arrangements were even more gorgeous than the pictures I had sent Mildred.  The flowers were top notch!  The chuppah was beautiful, and there were mango/gold rose arrangements located in vases on the mantle.  We had provided Mildred a burned CD of our music and it went off without a hitch.  Groom/Parents, BM/MOH, and FG walked down to "And I Love Her" by Beegie Adair Trio, Bride/Parents walked to "O", and recessional was "Gonna Fly Now" by Bill Conti (we're originally from Philly and love Rocky).   Rabbi Craig was absolutely amazing.  All of our guests were raving about how personal and thoughtful the ceremony was.  Wedding Consultant Mildred: Leading up to the wedding, I had some concerns regarding communication (specifically email) with Mildred.   While she was very pleasant and helpful when we got in touch with her, she was somewhat difficult to get ahold of.  Then again, I wasn't exactly the most available either since I work 70 hours a week at my job and I'm on the east coast.   My FI did most of the communication since I couldn't and he did a fab job.  We noticed that Mildred had three different assistants throughout our planning period, and her last assistant, Saundra, was fabulous and was alot better with the communication than the previous assistants.   Saundra started working with us two months before the wedding, and she's a great assistant to Mildred.    When I was actually at the salon for the rehearsal and wedding day, I saw how Mildred is truly committed to the bride and groom when it counts and she was ignoring her calls while we were there.   For instance, when I was getting my makeup done the morning of the wedding in the salon, she showed up to ask if I had any last minute questions or requests.  We also called her up to the room when I was getting dressed to make sure that my dress was laced up ok since it was a corset back.    She also helped bustle me up after the ceremony.  Mildred is very professional and knows how to pull off a great wedding.   She got all the details perfectly. She has her way of doing things so you just need to give her the ropes and trust her.  I'm happy that Mildred was my consultant because everything was perfect on our wedding day.  I told myself not to worry about a thing the month before because I trusted that Mildred would come through for us and she certainly did.  While the communication was not good 3+ months out, we realized that there are so many weddings that the consultants have to plan and they prioritize by those occurring the closest.  Once we got to the one month mark, the communication was fine.  Mildred knows what she's doing, and she'll make your day come true!  Hair, Makeup, Mani/Pedi, Spa at Wynn A++++++I decided to have everything done at the Wynn.  It is super pricey, but everything was great.  The day before the wedding, I went with my girls to the Spa to get a massage and mani/pedi instead of a bachelorette party.  I had a fusion massage, which was relaxing and painful at the same time.  I loved every bit of it, since I'm in residency so this was much needed.  I wish I spent more time at the Spa, but I had a french mani and pedi appt shortly after, which looked great.   The day of the wedding, I had my hair done by Marissa, who was very nice and did a fabulous job on my hair.  I showed her a picture of a trial that I had back in Philly with my stylist, and she made it look even better.  She even said to come back if I needed something to be touched up later.  Stephanie did my makeup, and I had the airbrush, which lasted the entire night as well as into the next day.  I don't usually wear makeup, but she made me look like a more enhanced version of myself. I still recognized myself, but I couldn't believe how awesome I looked.  I had thought about having someone come to my room (Glamsquad, Lori White), but I'm glad that I went with the Wynn Salon.  It was expensive, but they really did a great job, and since I stayed in the Tower Suites, it was not too far for me to go from my room.  My MOH, mom, MOG, sister of groom, and flower girl all had our hair and makeup done there and everyone looked smashing!Reception: Maggiano's  A++++++We had the calabria room for 30 adults and 2 infants, and it was perfect.  Marc, Cassy and Karen were wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding.  They were quick to respond to emails and were very helpful.  We went with the Manhattan package, and upgraded to the Martini bar.   The Martini bar made it alot of fun and was really worth it.  Our guests really enjoyed trying all the Martinis that were listed on the card.  Robert was our bartender, and he made awesome drinks and everyone really enjoyed having the bar inside the room.  I was going to go with the Abruzzi room, but I wanted to have room for dancing and I liked the idea of having the bar inside the room.  If you have more than 40 people, I would recommend getting the Calabria and Dicarlo/Abruzzi rooms because we comfortably fit with a total head count of 30.  If we would have had a DJ on top of this, there wouldn't have been much space for dancing.   The food was delicious (I didn't get to eat much of it) from what people told me, and there was plenty of it.  We docked our IPOD, and the sound was fine.   We had a sparkling wine toast right before appetizers were passed out, which worked out nicely.  There were four round tables and a sweetheart table for us.  The room was spacious, and I am glad I went with the bigger room.   Also, request ahead of time if you would like to have the cake boxed up (if there's extra).  I don't think they'll do it if you ask the night of the wedding. We actually took the flowers from the pew arrangements and chuppah and used them as centerpieces at Maggianos, and they looked great!  I didn't plan on doing this since I went with photos of the casinos as centerpieces, but the addition of the flowers was a nice touch.  Maggianos also got a vase for my bouquet, and it looked beautiful on our sweetheart table.  Our guests really enjoyed Maggiano's and I would highly recommend. Here is our package: Hors d'oerves Asparagus with shrimp crepe Tomato and Mozzarella Crostini Stuffed mushrooms Appetizers/Salads Four Cheese Ravioli Fritte Bruschetta Spinach Salad Caesar Salad Entrees/Pasta Chicken Parmesan Salmon Lemon and Herb Lasagna Rigatoni D Desert Wedding Cake Dessert TableAccommodations: Wynn A++++++We stayed 3 nights (including wedding night) in the Tower Suite section of the hotel in a Parlor Suite on the 58th floor facing the golf course.  This was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in!  The room was huge with a wet bar, powder room, living room with flatscreen and automatic drapes, bedroom with the most comfortable bed, sheets with flatscreen, ipod alarm clock, auto drapes, and the biggest bathroom I have ever seen...it could probably fit my apartment into it.  The bathroom had his and hers sinks with a separate vanity for makeup and a tv, large shower with a wand (never saw that before), jacuzzi, and a huge closet with slippers, robes and a safe.  They even sent up chocolates after we checked into the room, which was a nice touch.  The room was spotlessly clean.  We had our friends up there to hang out on various nights and it can comfortably fit 8-10 people in the living area.  My only complaint was that the door didn't always shut completely; you really had to use alot of elbow grease to shut the door, which is a pain to worry about with lots of different people coming in and out of the room.  We had a nice turndown the night of the wedding, which included rose petals on the bed, as well as a bottle of champagne, our ketubah, and some body lotion/candle/oils.  We ordered room service the morning after the wedding, which was excellent.  I loved the pool at the Wynn.  I didn't get to use it as much as I would have liked since I was so busy with wedding stuff, but it's breathtaking.   The sun does go away after 3pm though, but I was trying to stay away from the sun with the wedding so close, so I didn't mind.  The Tower Suites has a separate smaller pool area overlooking the rest of the pool, but I didn't get to use that.  Overall, I'm happy that I could stay at the Wynn.  I felt like I was living in a dream because everything is so over the top.  It was definitely expensive, but I felt that the service was above and beyond, and I'd gladly return.   I would definitely recommend staying in the Tower Suites if you are getting married at the Wynn.  I also liked that it was closer to the Wedding Salons.Cake Designs LV-  A++++++We had the "Honored Tradition" two tiered cake with carrot cake and cream cheese filling and yellow cake with strawberry filling.  I didn't get to try the carrot cake, but the yellow cake with strawberry was delicious.  We took most of the cake back with us and enjoyed it for breakfast the next day. :)  Dawn was fine to work with and we were happy with how the cake turned out.Eddie Powers as Vegas-  A++++++Eddie Powers was a hit!  We didn't tell our guests that he was coming and everyone was so surprised when he walked through the door.  He did our first dance (Can't help falling in love), father daughter dance (Love me tender) and Burning Love.  He actually did a fourth song All Shook Up and our guests were dancing and doing the kick.  He stuck around for pictures and gave us a couple of autographed pictures.  Everyone had alot of fun with Elvis.  I love how he said "The more you drink, the more I look like Elvis." Rehearsal Dinner at Cravings Buffet at Mirage: B+We had our rehearsal dinner here since we treated our guests to the LOVE show afterwards and wanted something simple and in the same building as the show.  They put us in a semi-private area of the buffet.  Since it was Monday, it wasn't that crowded so that we could all be close.  The food was fine.  I didn't eat that much of it, but I did have the shrimp cocktail, which everyone (including me) thought was excellent.  The Chinese food station was great as well.  The service was great, and they even brought out a slice of cake with a candle on it for my husband's sister's birthday.  Nice touch.  I think the buffet was fine for our purposes.  If you're going to see LOVE and have a large group of people, they accomodated us well, and didn't require any deposits like other venues wanted.  If you want want the best buffet out there, this definitely isn't it, but it's not the worst either.  I'd say it's a safe bet. LOVE Cirque du Soleil Show  A+++++We went through group reservations to buy LOVE tickets for all of our guests.  We figured that if people were spending alot of money to come out to our wedding, we wanted to make it worth their while.  ;-)  We saw the show last year and loved it.  We picked where we wanted to sit (balcony), and everyone was seated together.  I think the balcony seats are the best since you can see everything since there is so much going on.  If you're going through group reservations, they waive the "entertainment" fees, which was nice.  I think this is the best cirque show in Vegas.  I know others will disagree, but our guests are huge beatles fans and they all loved it.  Dress steaming: Fit for a Bride A+++++Great was great to work with.  I dropped off the gown at the Wynn Wedding Salon, and it was picked up from there and dropped off.  Mildred then had the dress delivered to my room the day before the wedding and it looked perfect.  I had carried the dress on the plane and had to fold it numerous times, but the steaming fixed all of that.Photography: Cashman A-Emily and Joe were our photograhers, and they were so much fun to work with.  They took absolutely amazing pictures and captured the ceremony well.  My only issue was the day after when we met with their representative to go over prices.  They tried to push more images on us than our package stated, and we had to call in the director to adjust the price for only the images that were included in our contract.  We knew that we wanted to purchase the rights to the photos, which we expected to be expensive and trust me, it was, but once we established that, they were more willing to adjust their prices.  It was quite stressful, which is why I gave an A-, but the photos were exceptional.

Awesome reviews, please post pics as soon as you can! We're having our reception at Maggiano's as well, but we're squeezing into the Calabria room with 50 people (6 tables). I've contacted Marc to see if we can get either the Abruzzi or DiCarlo rooms in addition but they're already booked. I guess all I can hope for is for some people to drop out of coming!

the calabria room minimum is 3000...we had to upgrade on various food and beverage items since we had some last minute cancellations.  some of the upgrades included the martini bar ($4/person), and we had three vegetable sides (4.50 per person).  if you're not making the minimum, i'd recommend using their vendors (dj's, flowers, cake) since they will go towards the minimum.  I went through cake designs with the cake, and they applied a $4/person credit, but it didn't count toward the minimum, so we spent more on the food and drink.  they can also upgrade you on linens if needed.  i'm so glad we had the calabria room.  The abruzzi would have been cramped, especially since we had people up and dancing.  The bar being in the room was great too, as our bartender was amazing.

great reviews, thank you!  I have experienced the same thing with Mildred concerning her correspondence response time, but I feel the same way you did a month before your wedding - completely confident that she will only help make our wedding day more fabulous.  It's nice to have some further reassurance of this confidence two weeks before the big day, though. :-)I can't wait to see the pictures!! congratulations!
