Excalibur Hotel

Hey ladies!!! I am back and married!!!! :) I will be posting my full reviews within the next few days but needed to say this ASAP. If you have booked your stay at the Excalibur Hotel, I recommend switching to a different hotel NOW. It is NOT worth the service that you get for the price of the hotel. I think the Motel 8 would have been an upgrade. Everyone we spoke with at the hotel were having similar problems. I will post the full review within the next few days, if you have booked a stay there and would like to hear the review before I post them all... feel free to email me :) (my knot name @ yahoo)

We didn't have any problems with Excalibur when we stayed...  It certainly wasn't the nicest hotel we've ever stayed at, but the location was good and it was dirt cheap through smartervegas.com.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

I've stayed at Excalibur a couple of times and had no problems.  We even stayed in a "low end" room.  The room was clean, the staff was nice and for the price we paid with a promo code there were no complaints.  I was however, not impressed with the buffet or the timeshare people.

Our room was anything but clean. I can deal with crappy service for the price, but not a dirty room. The timeshare people were terrible. Its sad that you have to actually get rude with them to get them to leave you alone. I hate being rude to people. By the end of the trip we realized to just ignore them and not even look at them when they are talking to you. We asked about the buffet and an employee told us that she hadn't eaten there in months, and she highly recommended the Sherwood Forest Cafe... it was very good. esp their steak & cheese!

mloeks... I have a feeling our reviews are going to be the same. We LOVED Planet Hollywood. They knew we were not staying there and treated us as if we were. If we ever go back, that is where we will stay! A couple we met on the flight back to Tampa also said their wallpaper was peeling off the wall. We have 2 unauthorized charges from the hotel. One we had removed while we were there (after many phone calls to the desk) the other I am going to work on tomorrow, I didnt want to deal with them anymore while we were there!

Did you use it? or did you get married at planet hollywood?

I don't care what the price is, but I battled for more than a week (nearly two weeks) to get an unauthorized charge off my credit card. this was after they had already billed me and I got removed one other large charge.the one nice thing is that my bank immediately credits me when i make a complaint. bravo to them. boo to excalibur.we were terribly disappointed and wedding guests who visited us in our room for the first few nights we were in vegas were appalled at the condition of the room. we did love the panorama suite at planet hollywood and other wedding guests who stayed there loved it. much more than vthe wedding guests who stayed at excalibur. i don't know any guests who stayed at the excalibur who plan to ever stay there again.

My sister and friend stayed there 24th-29th October had a great time. Their room was nice and clean and they had no problems with staff or authorised charges. By the sounds of it, The Excalibur is very hit and miss.I echo pps though- a good price does not justify bad service

From what I understand, there are 2 parts to Excalibur.  There is a tower that is old and hasn't been remodeled, and there is a nicer more expensive tower that has been completely remodeled.  Most of my family coming in this week is staying at Excalibur, but most of them are paying a little more to stay in the nicer area.

There is a HUGE difference between the renovated and unrenovated rooms for a very small price difference.  We've stayed in the newer rooms and had no complaints whatsoever.  I agree that it is very hit and miss. Savannah, sorry you had a bad experience but it looks and sounds like the rest of your time was great!

We stayed in the "upgraded" rooms, in tower 2. The comforter already had 3 holes in it. My stepfather stayed in Tower 1 and it was just scary.

As part of our package, we were put in a Tower 1 room. Not good at all. I do understand though that the Tower 2 rooms were nicer. The hotel refused to upgrade us, which I thought was crap considering we also paid to get married in their chapel.
Also, you know, I could have probably overlooked the peeling wallpaper, dark hallways, and the rude bell men. However, I was most upset with the unauthorized charges on my bill repeatedly and the multiple calls I had to make to get them removed. (That is setting graciously setting aside  my experience in the chapel.)
I have however found out that my bank has great customer service. I knew that before, but the Excalibur confirmed it for me. :)

My fiance and I stayed in the Excalibur back in 2007, and we also experienced a very rude bell man who took our luggage to our room, and unauthorized charges on our bill. However, the front desk did not give us any problems removing the charge when we told them it wasn't ours. It was for an ordered movie which we never ordered. It was cheap and a good location. Overall, I have to say the worst hotel ever was Circus Circus, and that's a whole other story.
