Firefly or El Segundo

Has anyone got opinions on which one is better? The pricing is very simliar and they are both very quick at getting back to me. I guess it comes down to the "vibe" of the place which I really cant get from overseas. I like the name firefly better, but realise that's a pretty stupid thing to base a decision on haha. I am thinking either for meet and greet or day after. Thanks in Advance!

i haven't heard anything about El Segundo, but reviews for firefly are pretty good - lots of mention of it being people's favourite restaurant etc - that's why we booked it for our rehearsal dinner - we aren't going with a private room, we're doing a the 4 course meal for 16 - looking forward to it! I haven't eaten there myself yet but will have a review after September!

on a foodie note - does anyone else scour yelp drooling over food pics lol - we were trying to figure out which restaurants we for sure wanted to get to and found ourselves wasting far too much time scanning food porn for BLT burger, Serendipity3, and wicked spoon lol

Firefly is my favorite restaurant, the food is amazing and great prices. Drinks are yummy too! FI and I just ate there this weekend and it was great. I wanted to do our rehearsal dinner there but I also really want a private room and their minimum was to high. The dining area gets really crowded and loud which is just not an option for us, I wanna give a special speech and give out some gifts

Thank you! I am definitely feeling even better about firefly now. @torontozombie- i spend all morning looking at pictures of their food - yummo! Will have to check out serendipity... Firefly on Paradise just got back to me saying they don't have any private rooms. @torontozombie and sarahgirl - which one of the locations are you looking at where they have private rooms? Do you mind sharing how much they quoted as a minimum?

haha - i'm glad i'm not the only one - it actually helps with cravings, i feel like i've had a good meal after looking at all the pictures! lol.

As for the private room, it's at Paradise for me as well - i didn't even inquire about the cost, when we first called, they didn't have any available that night so we didn't evne go there - and to be honest at that point we thought we were footing the bill so we were wanting to keep things low cost lol - now parental units are paying but we're still sticking with it

Maybe she just meant that they didn't have any available that night?

Did they tell u what ur food and beverage minimum would be yet? They quoted me 6000 on a Wednesday!!!! We decided to do ours at a buffet in a private room, the prices are the same as the plates at firefly

I Totally asked!!!! Nope....no typo! I even asked why some girls were quoted like 1500 for Fridays and I was quoted so high on wednesday.....she gave me some generic answer so I just moved on.

Lol u are like me. Buffet seems like th e best option. She went down on the f &b minimum for us too.....I asked her if 1500 was the best she could do....after "talking with management" it went down to 1200. Pluss your cake counts towards your food and beverage minimum. Look at wicked spoons reviews on trip advisor and look at the pics of food....that's what sold me.

Firefly is my favorite restaurant.  They do have a private room, and I was given a $3,000 minimum for a weekend event.  I didn't know food could taste so good.  The ambiance is low lit, Spanish style, and lots of red.  It has a very intimate and sultry feel to it.

Thank you ladies! They told me in their last email that they don't have a private room, so I have asked again. Haven't heard from them since, but I still have ten months to go, so no dramas. she said she could get us a big table for 30 and the min would be $50pp or something like that - we will easily meet that with the open bar :-) Thank you so much for the photos - and telling me you love the place. I had a feeling it oucld be just right for us - and given they get back to me at some stage this will be perfect for us! Mmmhhhh, can't wait to eat there!
