Bummed! :-(

Soooo I just found out from one of our mutual friends that one of my best friends (who is also one of my bridesmaids) who got engaged three weeks ago has set a date, venue, photographer etc. for her wedding. I haven't talked to her in a week (I live in Scotland she lives in Florida) so not sure if all of this has just happened or she already knew. We usually talk once a week.

But she is getting married in November about a month after me and there is absolutely no way I will be able to fly back to Florida where the wedding will be after I have just gotten back from Vegas for our wedding because I won't have any holiday time left this year and I just won't be able to afford another UK-USA journey.

I am just a bit upset that I won't be able to attend her wedding. And I might add that I found out she was engaged on facebook. We have been best friends since Kindergarten (we are 30 this year).

Am I overreacting? Thanks ladies! As usual I welcome all thoughts and comments.

Aww!! Yes you have every right to be bummed! You also just have to take into consideration that sometimes there are reasons why some couples choose a date and it will not work for everyone... So go grab a glass of wine and sulk a little Cool

But yeah...It's perfeclty ok/normal to be upset.

Agreed!! The date is unfortunate...but if she has truely been your friend for that long she will understand. I wonder why you had to find out from a mutual friend though. :(

You get to be bummed, but don't let it keep you down for long.

You definately can be bummed but I think she is probably sooo nervous to tell you that she has been avoiding you! Call her up and congratulate her so that the awkwardness is out of the way.

As Stinker said grab a wine and sulk for a bit!

I would be bummed too. On both counts (finding out on facebook and not being able to attend).

I agree with the other ladies. A glass of wine to sulk! And maybe a piece of chocolate. :)

Yeah at the end of the day all I can do is be happy for her but I am a bit sad that I found out about her engagement from facebook, and then three weeks later find out she has set a date and booked all of these things and not said even though I have spoken to her every week. But like j_jaye says she is probably just nervous to tell me.

Thanks ladies! I feel better knowing that I wasn't the only one who would be upset (sometimes you question your own bridezilla feelings, lol).
