IS "Zebra" a color? Reception ideas...

My FI LOVES Zebra print-- well, she loves any animal print, and with our wedding being in Vegas, I dont see how it would not be an acceptible color for our reception-- the question is- how do I go about doing it?

We are having the reception outdoors at a large property we are renting, and are using Masterpiece cuisines "Heavy Appatizer: option- Can i need to buy plates/napkins/cups, and would it be cheesy?  I am not sure what they provide exactly- Also a few decorating tips would be appreciated.

I think Zebra would be fun!
It is something though where if you go overboard on it it can easily turn in to tacky but just bits of it here and there would be nice like having the zebra ribbon around a vase or I really like the zebra print cake and maybe some napkins. I think it's definitely a print you can have fun with.

As far as Masterpiece cuisine goes this is what their proposal says they provide:
    Premium black china and flatware
    Three-ply paper napkins
    Premium black serving utensils
    Disposable chafing dishes with fuel
Premium black serving platters and bowls

If you'e doing the bar service too I'm not any help for what they supply I'm just using them for food so I'll have to buy our own cups.

Maybe you could find zebra napkins,  throw some zebra pillows around, or even incorporate it into your favors. Subtlety would be key so it doesn't look tacky.  Not sure why this is coming out in italics now LOL

If you're having programs, you could trim the paper with zebra (same with any other paper thing like invitations).

You could have the bridesmaids wear zebra print shoes, carry zebra print purses, or wear zebra print belts.

Maybe you can DIY zebra print picture frames, and bring your engagement photos to the reception to put in said frames.

I bet you could even find a cute guest book and use a basic zebra print ribbon as a "bookmark".

ETA - I agree that subtlety is key.  My favorite color (obsession, really) is purple.  We decided to just put "splashes" of it everywhere, so it's not like a purple extravaganza!

We also are just doing food.  I have seen all the cutlery one ever needs in Zebra print-

This is what I have so far-

Im a bit of a redneck at heart, SO I will be wearing a western sport jacket over a silver Zebra vest (they are pretty cheap too!) Bride will have black and silver boque,
zebra shoes, and a silver zebra pattern ear rings-  We think that incorperating the pattern with silver makes it fit the theme, but doesnt overkill-

Looking into table covers and some cups for the guests.

We are making postcard weddng invites, so we can actually get a good picture of the 2 of us to our guests (who can RSVP by website, email, or phone), and will probably sneak something Zebra into it.

Oh- anyone know a way i can get a post office box in Vegas, so i can start shipping stuff there so i dont have to take it with me on the plane, or pay ridiculous international postage?

Thanks for all the help girls.

Not sure but I thought in general P.O. boxes are kind of tiny?

I've heard some girls on the board say that if you book a day of coordinator, usually they're okay with letting you ship stuff to them.  Plus it has the added bonus of them taking care of all the vendors for you.  I'm still in the process of booking one, so I can't speak from personal experience yet.
