It should speak volumes that a bride who obviously had an account but never blogged was so happy with our venue to do so. We have been on this blog for great reviews for many years, this is not the first nor will it be the last bride who is happy with our venue. 

Also, I will refrain from posting again. However, if we are going to speak about fairness here, then this post being on here by a real bride who was ecstatic to be in our chapel, who actually was married at our chapel, is fair.

what is unfair, is the carnage that ensued and my award winning venue and planner being accused of writting a fake review.

This isn't a blog, it's a forum, and forums are populated with people who enjoy talking about specific topics that interest them, primarily Las Vegas weddings in this case.  Blogs are pages where one person gives their thoughts on whatever they feel like talking about and others, if they choose to, go to read that person's posts.

It is frowned upon when people do a post and run in this forum, with a very specific vendor review, leaving out all other vendors they may have used, no pictures and no relevant information for people who may read it; i.e. a useless post unless you're the vendor in question.  Vendors often do this, although vendors who do so often typically format their posts better and spell check them, but we see the same thing with vendor-prompted reviews and they provide no benefit to the members of the site; if people wanted to just see a bunch of "me too's" to reaffirm their vendor choices they could go on wedding wire.

I'm sure this particular bride was "ecstatic" and that you've won countless awards, but you probably would have been better served by leaving the thread alone as it likely would have disappeared on its own.  You definitely don't need to defend the chapel from anything; I don't think I've seen anyone write a negative review of your chapel.  All the issues with Mandalay have come on the hotel side or with Cashman photography's ridiculous prices.

Wow this is quite a thread! I must jump in and say that I have not been married yet, however I am planning a ceremony at THE wedding chapel and a reception in our suite. So far everything has been super easy and our coordinator Jaimie has been a doll. I have talked to 2 other girls when Jaimie wan't available I believe it was Aleena and Samantha and they were very helpful and sweet and answered all of my questions. Seeing that there are so many negative reviews regarding these suite receptions I will definitely speak with my coordinator to see that she assures there are no hiccups on our wedding day. I am fairly new here but after reading a few threads it seems people are upset about the suites not the actual service at the chapel? I can't rave enough about how great everything has been for me so far and I will be sure to keep everyone posted on the out come.

Correct; I haven't seen any complaints aobut the MB chapel, just the hotel side and the insane prices from Cashman photography.

They're already quoted multiple times so at this point either the thread is going to go entirely or it's going to stay as-is for the sake of the discussion that resulted since deleting random posts would result in the thread making no sense.  I don't think the original post was anyone from Mandalay; they wouldn't have made the mistakes or mentioned the high price of the pictures.

Francesca: It's the suites not the chapel. Since the suite receptions with outside catering have no involvement with the chapel, it is unfair to hold Mandalay bay weddings accountable. It is technically against the policy to bring in outside catering, and although it is not enforced, the weddings department cannot be involved whatsoever. Lots of girls have had amazing DIY in suites, but then there are some that have not....and since it is technically not allowed, it's a risk you have to take. But it usually turns out great.

Wow...I never knew a post from me would cause such a stir. The reason this is my first post ever is because I don't post things unless I feel moved to do so. The reason this is my first in years...because the first time I registered on theknot was for my 1st failed marriage. This is my 2nd marriage and I couldn't be happier. He treats me better than my 1st husband who I can not even describe without using obsenities. He was a cheating d-bag. There. I said it. So I hope you are happy all you who think I'm some sort of vendor. I'm a proud jersey girl who just went to the NKOTBSB concert in Atlantic City last week and am going to see Britney Spears this Friday at the Izod center. Would a vendor share that info with you? Yeah...that's what I thought. I had an amazing wedding and some of you just managed to rip me to shreds. I posted a professional shot as well as one taken the night of my wedding before we went to Mix Lounge for the after party taken on a friend's digital camera. The cocktail dress, got at Macy's for $46 and better yet, my wedding dress, got that on Macys.com for $208. But my shoes were the most fabulous. Hot pink from DSW for $60.
So there. The only complaints I have is with this website, NOT Mandalay Bay. Just because you might be a bridezilla, don't take your anger out on me. I'm just trying to share my experience in the most honest way possible. Never thought it would come to this. You, knot users, disappointed me most. That excludes those who do believe I'm legit. Thank you for having a lil' faith.

The reason people considered your post suspect is because it is very very rare that someone just randomly shows up on here and posts a glowing review of one, and only one, vendor having never participated in this forum before.  Typically that only happens when it is the vendor themselves, or someone who's been prompted by the vendor in question to "go post a review on the knot."  Everyone here tries to keep the forum fair to all vendors by not allowing vendors to post fake reviews or otherwise encourage something that would not have otherwise been posted.

Not sure what the price of your dress or the concerts you go to see have to do with anything.  You didn't address the questions on what you're considering 'cheesy' either; probably best not to actually since it will insult people even more.

Guess I'll delete this thread later tonight unless anyone objects.

Yeah, we're all a bunch of old married hags, bridezillas, & groomzillas (I still don't know what to call VG since we can't call him a hag) on this board.  VG already commented on why your post was suspicious so I'm not gonna go into it.

I think the thread needs to stay....it gives honest feedback and is very real. Sadly enough the knotties seem to be very clicky. The more and more I read all of the posts the more I see that. You go Jersey girl!
