Cashman Packages

Well i get 12 4x6's with our wedding package, and on top of them 12 we've picked only 5 more that we really liked my question to you all is did you purchase the dvd or just what was included in your wedding package? the reason I ask is I'll pay like $50 out of pocket for the extra pics but not sure if i can make copies of them or make extras once i have them
anyone have ideas I don't want to purchase the DVD for $950 that just seems extreme

I called Cashman to find out about packages because we thought we would want more than the 12 photos included in our package. They said that the photos included have a watermark which apparently means you can't get copies. We are going to get the DVD. Sooo expensive and reluctant to part with all that money, but at least then we will have the rights to the photos and can get as many printed off as we want to give to parents, etc.
All a bit of a con really, a tricky one!!!

starry - did they mention if there's a watermark on any enlargements that you order?  If we were to order a bigger size to frame I wouldn't want it to have the watermark on it, kwim?

hmmm sorry not sure about enlargements!

yeah thats not good, I don't want to order enlargements either if they have frickn' water mark on them, I dont even think the pics are all that professional to be paying that much money for them, ugh now i'm not sure what to do, I really can't see spending $900 on pics but then again you have the rights to them what do you all suggest? Can you not scan the picture into the computer and take them somewhere to get printed like one of those Kioask places?
    thanks for the help ladies

technically those kiosk places shouldn't print the picture if it is marked - even if you've scanned it into the copmuter.  some places will, because they aren't checking (usually because they have someone workng who isn't getting paid enough to really care, haha).  but i would pay for the rights to the pictures.  you never know when you'll want to reprint something.

is cashman an in-house photographer?  that price seems super high!

We only paid for a couple of extra (they won't count black & white or retouched photos in your 'included prints') photos. I've scanned mine and they've shown up ok on the computer - I haven't tried to print them though.

Not sure if there's a watermark - if so it must be on the back.

They were asking more for copyright for 100 (Ok, but not great) photos than I paid for my photographer ALL day including full copyright of over 600 shots.
