Cakes for insuite reception

I noticed LV cake designs dont deliver insuite. Who did you use?

Some of the bakeries will bring it to the lobby and you go down to get it, I think that's how Cake Designs might work.

I'm not having a cake but just thought I'd pass on something I learned during my scouting trip.  If I were to bring in my own cake, rather than use the hotel's cakes, they wouldn't refrigerate it for me.  The fridge in our suite is too small for a cake as well.  Just make sure you ask your hotel about that or have it delivered shortly before you need it.

We're having dinner at Bayside Buffet at MB. I had lunch there when I was on my scouting trip and the food was great.  They had amazing desserts on the buffet that both looked and tasted awesome, which was why we decided to save several hundred dollars and skip having a cake.  We're then having cocktails in an L Suite at THE Hotel.
On my scouting trip (FI wasn't there. I was down for a girlfriend's bday), I went to MBl on Sat and asked to see some suites.  Everything was occupied so they told me to come back on Mon morning before I flew out.  I saw the Vista Suite and it was very nice.  It was a tiny bit small for the number of guests we're expecting.  I went over to THE Hotel and they let me see an H Suite.  It's a bit smaller than an L Suite (L suites were all occupied), but the H had the same layout, just a bit smaller.  It still gave me a good idea of what it would look like.  I fell in love with their suites.  I love the modern look and the best way I can describe it is "sexy!"

What days are you going to be there? If you'll have a weekday, you'll have a better chance of viewing some suites.  Good luck! Take lots of notes!

I had an in-suite and used Cake Designs. They deliver it to the lobby and someone meets them. Our reception was at 6 and they delivered it at 2. Dawn reassured me the cake could sit in the room for 8+ hours and be perfectly fine. :o)

same as above...MB and most hotels wont refrigerate or help deliver your cake to the suite, someone needs to be in the lobby to get it. Jean Philippe Patisserie said that the cake will do fine in the suite with the temp down a bit for at least 6 hours.

i had an insuite at mandalay bay and used their cake ... was WAY cheaper than any of the other quotes that we received and the cake was amazing!  3 tier cake that servced 50 people including delivery, clean up, plates and forks was $200!!!  couldnt ask for a better deal!

@Shauna - I wasn't going to have a cake but for that price, I may have to reconsider.  What flavor did you get?  Would you mind posting a pic of your cake?

I used Cake Designs and had them deliver it to the lobby where my dad picked it up. Mine was $300 for 50 ppl but I paid extra for delivery and for buttercream frosting. Cost really depends on your design. The more complicated, the more it was cost.
