Wedding officiants

I am searching for an officiant in the Triad area.  I found a couple on Wedding Wire, but they were too much out of our price range! I don't think you should spend a lot of money on an officiant.  Any recommendations?!

I know what you mean. I met w/one at the beach who wanted $550. That seemed a lil high to us so we are still looking.

I searched on Wedding Wire, and there were only a handful in our area, and each one was in the $500-600 range.  Insane! I guess I will do a Google search.

look on www.networkthelight.org and it will give you a list of local officiants in your area..... most are about $250

I am sorry, but I think $250 & up is just too expensive.  I have a very tight budget, and I am just hopeful that I can find an officiant that is more affordable.  I sent out several e-mails last night.  My fiance`'s father was a minister, he has passed, but we are hoping his mother knows of someone that can do it for us.  If I could just get him to make a phone call! It is like pulling teeth!

Jessica  I'm having the same issue as you.  I would like someone for under $250 because we are also on a tight budget. I'm really having a hard time finding someone for less than that.

Where are you from in NC? I never thought it would be so difficult to find an affordable minister.  I thought that would be the easy part!

I didn't think it would be this difficult either. We live in Asheboro.  Neither my fi nor I attend church on a regular basis, so we can't really go that route.  

Someone in another forum suggested calling the local office that issues the marriage licences to see if they have list of names.  I called them and they said call the magistrate's office.  I just got a recording for them when I called.  I'm going to call them again.  

Where in NC do you live?  If I have any luck finding someone, I will let you know.

I live in Kernersville.  I have contacted Sharon (the user above) and she has been the most affordable, so I am attempting to meet with her to discuss the ceremony.  Also, my mother knows an ordained minister in South Carolina, and she is a good family friend, so I'm really hoping it will work out with her because my options are limited! I wish you the best of luck.  Seems like everyone in the Triad is too expensive.  Do you have anyone you can ask, like someone in your family/friends who attend church & know of a minister?

I really didn't think it would be this hard to find someone reasonable.  I checked out the website for Sharon from above, but I didn't see that she was much cheaper.

I contacted the priest from my Greensboro church and he referred me to someone here in Asheboro, so I'm waiting to hear back from him.  

My fi stepmother's preacher might be available as well, so I need to check into that.

My FBIL is supposed to give us a name as well but he's hard to get a hold of on a regular basis.

I'm just ready to figure this out.
