Suggestions for Rehearsal Dinner Site - N. Raleigh/Wake Forest

Hello all:

I am looking for ideas for some place to have our rehearsal dinner.  Our wedding and reception are in Wake Forest.  The options there are very limited so we are also looking in N Raleigh.   Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sarah

What kind of venue are you looking for?  Restaurant or something else?  My best friend had her rehearsal dinner at Longview--an historic home--because she had a large event to include out of town guests.  They had barbeque.  There are also a number of nice restaurants.  Rocky Top Hospitality has its own venue where 1705 Prime used to be as well as Michael Deans.  Both are very good.  Urban Food Group has Vivace (which doesn't have much room for a private event) and Coquette (which has a large private room), both of which are at North Hills.  Winston's is very good, too, but I don't know how well it would accommodate a separate dinner.  If you like Mediterranean food, Solomon's is great.  It's at the corner of Sawmill and Six Forks.  They do more than just Mediterranean, but that's their specialty.  They're also pretty reasonably priced and fairly casual.

We looked into Winston's and they have a nice menu for private parties as well as a private room.  My friend's rehearsal dinner was at 1705 Prime.  The venue was gorgeous and the food was pretty good but not amazing.

We wanted a very laid back RD with BBQ. We looked at The Pitt & Red Hot & Blue. We ended up going with Red Hot & Blue because the food minimum to get the private room at The Pitt was too high. We had a very small RD guest list & we couldn't have met that minimum if we tried. We were very happy with RH&B.

Totally agree about The Pit--really cool place and reasonably priced for lunch, but their prices for dinner were approaching what we'll be paying for a buffet at the State Club for the reception.  It's excellent bbq and a unique atmosphere, but that took it off my RD list, too.
