Started the name change!

Today I went to the SS office and applied for a new card, whoo hoo! It was pretty painless. I was surprised they didnt check ID or anything, all they wanted was marriage certificate and the application. Had my passport, license, old SS card, all ready to go

    I just did that yesterday! I was also shocked that they didn't need my ID. I hit the post office and the bank on my lunch break, and I'll get a new DL as soon as the SS card arrives.

    I also need to change my mortgage and my car loan, which sucks, because they'll be paid off in 8-9 months. There's so much to think about when you change your name. It takes a lot of work to become BecW!

    Yay!  Good luck changing it on everything else.  I thought the SS office and DMV were the easiest part about changing my name.  The multiple phone calls and letters sent REALLY get annoying.   I have all the major things switched, but I am taking a break for a little while before I finish everything up :)

    Congrats, Katherine!  Yeah...I have to get started on all this fun stuff too...at least it's going smoothly so far.  That's crazy, though, about not having to show anything at the SS office!
