what does a DJ cost?

Hi,

I'm trying to get an idea of what a DJ costs to factor into my budget. Ranges will be fine. Thank you in advance.

The cheapest I've seen is $600 and they go up into the thousands.

You can probably google NC disk jockey and get some hits that have pricing info on them.

Yep- depends on the amount of time, if they are doing reception and ceremony, etc.  Mine is about $1200 for about 6 hours- ceremony and reception music.  Just shop around and find someone that you like because they are going to be talking throughout your wedding, so you don't want a jerk behind the mike!!

All The Right Grooves is anywhere from 650-750 for 4 hours and they're awesome. Check the Nc Bride Bio. . there are other recommendations on there :)

We're looking at ceremony, cocktail hour and reception (so around 6.5 hours) and the ranges I've seen are $600 to $1000, in the Triad area.  This includes quotes from Anything Music DJ's, All the Right Grooves, and Triad DJ Service.  A few others (can't recall names) started at $675 for 4 hours.

We used All the Right Grooves and it was like $675 for 5 hours, and an extra $25 for an extra (large) speaker plus cable for cocktail hour. I find their prices to be very reasonable and they do a GREAT job.

holy smoke 1200-1500 for a DJ...that's unreal.  for 1,500 you can get a band a rubber band and a gum band...

Ours was somewhere b/t $600-$750.  He played from 6pm until 11 something.  We ended early so maybe 10:30.  He did a great job and did cocktail hour for us.  It was a lot cheaper than hiring a musicians for cocktail hour.

Ours was $550 for 5 hours, including lights and everthing.  He was awesome and everyone talked about how great he was.  He's from outside the Charlotte area, and didn't charge us for travel (45 min).
