Hey ladies!

My friend just forwarded me an email about this website called spokeo.com. On this website, people can search your name and find out all sorts of information about you including your age, address and other personal information, by just searching for you and can even get your credit scores by paying just $2.95/month!

To remove yourself from this list:

Search your name, once you find your name on the page, click on your name. Then copy the URL. Then in the bottom right hand corner, click on privacy and you'll have to paste the URL, type in your email address and a security code. Once you get the email, click the link and it will remove you from the list.

*Side note: I was trying to do this for some of my family as well and it will only let you remove so many people per day.

Yeah. I heard about this a couple of weeks ago.
While I too removed myself, all of the information found is stuff and people could find by searching on the internet for a little bit. This website just makes it super easy since it collaborates all the info onto one page.

It's a nice reminder though so always still be careful on the interwebz

OMG Thank you! I just searched for myself and I came up 3 different times! And boy was that info wrong! Said I was married and make $206,000 a year! HA I wish!

Wow, just found out that apparently I don't have any other siblings either.  I bet they already knew about this website and didn't tell me.  Now gotta remove mom and dad.  Thanks for posting!!

I'm not on there but FI is and all of his old addresses. And it says he makes $190k a year. Where is all this money he's hiding from me? :]

Careful with that site, ladies. Don't give it any additional info, including your email address to "opt out." It's a data mining site, & works by aggregating already accesible public information & then claiming that you need to give them a contact email to remove it. All you're doing is voluntarily handing over you email address & associating it with your real name. For more info, check out Snopes.com & search for Spokeo.
