Nevada-Las Vegas

Vegas, here I come!

We decided to leave a day early to get in more time for tastings and whatnot. So we are leaving for Vegas when FI gets home from work!

Prepare me for some sticker shock. We're going cake tasting at LVcustom cakes, gimme some sugar, and Freeds. GSS was the only one who gave me an aprox price ($950) I said 100 people. Is this a good estimate. I'm thinking $800 - $1000 are going to be the quotes. Am I thinking too low? Am I going to cry when I hear prices? Let me know.

Finally get to the Platinum in person. WooHoo! You know I will be back with lots of pictures to share with my other Platinum brides.

Wedding expo Saturday in Summerlin. I'm hoping to find a good deal on a photobooth. (fingers crossed) Also need to find a DJ & florist, so hope to get some leads on those.

    Yay, have fun!!

It really depends on how intricate your cake design is - Freed's quoted me $504 for our cake to feed 100 - 120 ppl (although I think we'll go the next size down) but our cake design is very simple.

Wow that's a lot....you should check out Sugars while you're in summerlin! They did an amazing Halloween themed cake for my bday last year and their red velvet is the best! Let me know if you want more info.

I'm a Retro Bakery lover, so I will always recommend them. We're doing cupcakes with a small cake topper though, and it will only cost us around $400 for 100 people.

I am sooooooooooooooo excited like a 12 year old girl to hear your thoughts and see your pictures of the Platinum!!!! Are you going to meet Nicole?

We're staying at Luxor got a pretty decent deal. $36/night and a few coupons to use.
The cake I want is a little elaborate. I want one of those "mad hatter" style cakes

    Inspriation:

And yes, I'm supposed to meet with NIcole at 2:30 tomorrow.

That's so awesome. I liked the mad hatter cakes, but since we were using Caesars catering, it would have cost us a nut to have that design. Anyways have fun, and checkout all the photobooths as they let u take a free pic that way u can compare the quality of each company. Also, look for Gabriel at All Events, I hope he still runs his promotional price for bridal show.

I am using the Cupcakery for my cake and for 100 person cake with very detailed work, fondant and buttercream and any flavor choice I want is $750.

I refuse to have cupcakes at an adult party.  But the cupcakery has done amazing cakes not just cupcakes, I choose them because their flavors and fillings and buttercreams are fabulous.

I get in on Friday night so your spidey sense will be tingling!

And Saratort, you are beginning to get on my last nerve.  What the hell with "I refuse to have cupcakes at an adult party."  Many people have gone that route.  I had cupckaes at FI's 40th and nobody was aghast.  If fact, people loved trying a couple flavors.

Are you TRYING to be abrasive or is that a natural response?

I don't even know you so how can I get on your last nerve?  I haven't even written anything on a post of yours... you seem to be the one attacking me..

It is natural thank you.  I am not some overly sensitive person.  I see things as they are and call it like it is.  I refuse to have cutsey cupcakes at an adult party.  My daughters 5th birthday maybe, an office birthday party maybe, a wedding no.

Nothing is directed at you.. I might recommend not being sensitive to a public forum post.

You'll find me drunk and ziplining down Fremont Street.

And I totally would do cupcakes if I wasn't so stuck on the madhatter cake

you posted something wacky in another post, that's how.

And my feelings aren't hurt at all.  I just thought it was a shitty way to phrase it.

We'll be dowtown at the GN on Saturday for a cake tasting, cabana tour, flower review and then off to pick up our license.  Drunk will be the name of the game.

The problem is, the way you say that sounds like you are super judgemental. Isn't it just as acceptable to say "I'm not a fan of cupcakes at a wedding" or "I really want a big cake at my wedding" ???? The way you said it reminds me of the chick who said that elvis weddings and chapels were "tacky" and not a fun option.

Anyway, cupcakes are awesome, and I'm so happy to be able to give my guests the option to try 2 or 3 different cake and frosting flavors!
