We actually did ours after we had booked our big ticket items, but we still wanted to see what things looked like.  Although I didn't book the reception venue until after or in December (6 months prior to WD).

Awesome! I think having most of your vendors booked already will make the trip less stressful and more enjoyable. We ran around Vegas like crazy people on our trip...it would have been nice to have more time to relax!
