decisions decisions......

So I have been trying to decide about a DOC... I am not sure if I need or want to spend the money... If it is a great idea..... I just need so insight on this.... What do you ladies think???!!??

I am also trying to figure out what is the right transportation company to use.... I am having around 20-25 guests.. not including 8-10 in the bridal party..

ANY SUGGESTIONS... looking to pick up guests on the strip to take to CoF.. and then transport guests to reception...

  • i would use bell trans or look on vegasgroom.com hes got great recommendations :)  doc if u truly need it then go for it will eliviate the stress of the day and last min bs things that could happen. 
    whose handling the insuite stuff on day of or set up day befor. if you have in suite handled then you may not need DOC.

    COF seems like does great job in handling that stuff on their site .  are you doing a strip tour then i say give the list and all what needs to happen to photog or driver for strip tour :)

  • Yanc... I am sooo into every lil detail.. I dont know if I need it.. I need to check with the Orleans and see how they handle everything.. so I can schedule my day and what  I need and IF I need additional support... If they handle things and I dont have to worry about it.

    I still think I am trying to decide which hotel to get ready at.. We are staying at Planet Hollywood... but hte reception is at the Orleans.. since they are giving us the 2bdrm suite to use that night.. I am wondering if we can use it to get ready.. It will give us a LOT more space to get ready..

    These are the things that I am trying to figure out.. We are doing our scouting trip in March to finalize things..

  • I would do the DOC if....1. You want to eliminate the extra stress and 2. if you're not a control freak. I was thinking of hiring one but I know exactly what I want and where and I've already recruited three people to take care of it, because I AM a control freak with everything, lol.

    I'm using Bell Trans for transportation. They have a bus that can hold 31 and outside of the huge semi limo that costs more money than I want to spend it was the largest to accommodate my guests. They have communicated very well with me through email. They quoted me $93.00 per hour.

    And the thing is.. I am a control freak with details... So I dont know what to do.. I feel like I am going to have it covered.. but I dont know.. and I dont know where to look for one and around how much they cost..

  • oo ok i say wait  till march about the DOC till get it locked down with the orleans then after you can decide.  i would also be on safe side and get estimates and all from DOCs so you can budget it if need be
  • I did everything with Bell Trans via email. Payment is due day of services and they do ask for someone to be designated in charge. Someone the driver can call. You can email them at
    reservations@belltransportation.com.

    I am providing transportation from the chapel to Orleans. My guests are staying at 5 different hotels and I also have family who lives in Vegas and they will be coming from their homes and some out of town guests are staying with them also. It was too difficult to try to accommodate everyone with trans there. Also, remember the bridal party gets the limo from COF so you will not have to count the party in making a reservation.

    From what I've priced Scheme and Posh (and a couple other places I can't remember name) They price by the hour with a 4 or 5 hour minimum.

    I know how I want everything set up and what I want moved (thanks to you sending me the footplan) and I've spoken to the three guys who will be in charge of doing the work. They all have a copy of the plan and directions on what I need done. But I know me prior to leaving for COF I will enter the suite and make the minor adjustments that I want. Just how I am.

  • How many vendors do you have for wedding day?  I think a DOC's value is primarliy dealing with all the people if you're having a lot of differnet people doing different things.  The other two big values are keeping everyone aware of where they need to be and when, and figuring out how to solve small problems that will come up that you'd be better off not worrying about.

    We couldn't have thrown our wedding without Scheme because we had about ten different vendors all responsible for various things at specific times of the day; they kept on top of everyone.  Then they did all the little stuff like making sure my wife and I both got to the venue without seeing each other, took my shoes to get shined when I realized I had forgotten to, helped all my groomsmen figure out how to put their ties and corsages on, etc.  I doubt anything would have been on time and the day would ahve been a mess without them.  But, if you have less vendors and don't need to adhere to a rigid timeline, many people do without.

  • Well the reception is at the Orleans in the Stardust Suite.. The Orleans.. they do all the catering.. the only other one is the Cupcakes and the DJ.. I already have the Photog.

    I wanted to have one centralized location pick up spot for the guest to be picked up by transportation and taken to the CoF and then to the Orleans for the reception.

  • hey girlie! We are using Double Decker Bus to pick the guest up from the COF and take them on their strip tour. I am going to use bellstran to pick the guest up from Stratosphere Hotel and to take them to COF and then we will use them again to pick the guests up from the Firefly and take them back to the Stratosphere hotel. I did have 2 hotels blocked for the guests but then i decided to only use the one hotel to try and make the guests stay at this hotel so it will be easier for us to pick the guest up and get them to the COF.

  • Hey Cin.... how many guest are you having?... That helps... thanks. After the ceremony... we are having a "cocktail hour" while we take photos... I am wondering if I need to have someone at the suite in charge there.. hmmm.... I need to think about that

  • OK. I invited 60 people only looking for 40 to show up. I'm not having anyone incharge at the hotel every man n woman for themselves and GOD for us all. How many people r u having? Where did u black the rooms?

  • we were going to have a DOC the one by brother and sister in law used but she ripped another couple off. So I'm using my sister in law to help with everything now n on that day to save money.

  • we are going to have around 25-35.. I am thinking. I really dont know.. I keep having dreams that nobody will show up..

    I did room blocks at different hotels.. different price ranges..: mandalay bay...planet hollywood.. paris.. and the orleans..

    I know some people are using their time shares.. so I am hoping they aren't far from planet hollywood.. Since I plan to have transportation pick them up there..

    I was going to do different hotels but then i decided to try and make them stay at one hotel. Yes my in laws are using their timeshare. If they are staying far from COF have them meet u at a close by hotel and have transportation pick everyone up at a central location.
