Hotel ceremony venues that allow outside photographers?

I am helping a friend plan her destination wedding in Vegas. I am looking for hotel venues that allow outside photographers because she has already picked one that she wants to use. Does anyone know of any Vegas hotels that allow this?

If she's using a hotel chapel at one of the strip resorts, very few allow it anymore.  If she's renting out a venue within one of those resorts, such as a restaurant, those are generally a lot more flexible since you're dealing with the group dining folks or the restaurant directly and they usually don't stand to make any $$ off the photo revenue so they don't care.

An exception to this is the Venetian whose official policy is that no third party photographers are permitted anywhere on Venetian-operated property, i.e. all the grounds, the canals, etc. but private restaurants within the Venetian are okay.  They even told us we couldn't have our own photographer if we rented out a private ball room in the convention center area.

The Flamingo allows outside photographers for a 150 dollar vendor fee.

Like VegasG said...If she is using any of the chapels she will either be outta luck or have to pay an outside vendor fee. We used the Chapel photographer for the ceremony and then our own photographer for the Getting Ready/ Bride &Groom, etc... pictures we wanted.

Caesars will allow you to bring in an external photographer into the Chapel - for a $200 fee.

In addition, you can even have their photographer there (if you purchase a package that includes photography) in addition to your own photographer.  That's what we're doing - we have 2 photographers for the ceremony.

    Best of luck!

You're getting married at CP and having 2 photogs for the ceremony?  Interesting...I didn't know you could do that.

I thought I had read on here recently that CP had done away with the outside photog option?  Maybe not though, I just know I'm not a fan of their photography company after they said on facebook that people who post on wedding websites after getting married have no life.

This was the impression I had too....NO outside photogs allowed.

See my WC told me that IF I were to bring in an outside photog I would have to Forfeit the photog portion of my package so I'm confused as to why you can have 2.  I have no choice in using their photog b/c my parents want me to use everything in my package so.......

<div>This is what I was told as well, when I looked into it.  And just as an FYI, a couple of other popular wedding chapels on these boards are Mandalay Bay and the Wynn, neither of which outside photography either (unless, as VG mentioned, you're not getting married in the chapel itself but in a restaurant space or something). </div>

Most of the chapels make you use their photographers.
We're getting married at The Platinum Hotel. We get to bring all of our own vendors in. But I don't think they do ceremony only.

According to my WC at CP, I can have both.  Here's a cut and paste from the email:

"As far as bringing an outside photographer for the ceremony that is not a problem but there is an $200.00 outside vendor fee if you want to have an outside photographer. If you want to have both photographers you would need to sign a waiver for that and pay the fee of the $200.00 for bringing outside photographer. If you just want to use your photographer you do not need to sign the waiver but the fee needs to be paid."

When I read the waiver, it sounded like I was giving up the prints in my package.  Here's more from my WC:

"If you sign this waiver you are not giving up the prints that you have included in the package, it just basically we are not responsible if the quality of the pictures come the same due to you have another photographer taking pictures. Quality and quantity would not be the same if you have another photographer in the same location, but our photographer would shoot the most the can and would do the best anyways."

@jenjenaz - that is an interesting email.  I asked my WC about that last week after I read some people used outside photographers.  She told me they did away with that policy and no outside photographers are allowed. When did you receive that email from your WC?

Either way, I'm back and forth on whether I think it's worth the $200 anyway since the ceremony is so short.

Way to toot their own horn! LOL

This thing with 2 photogs is news to me as well. If anyone is doing this, you may want to check with your outside photog. I know mine had something in the contract that others could not also be taking professional (or professional grade) pictures at the same time.

@poisonivy - i received that email about a week ago

@ebonyivory - i assumed that it was a typo and she meant that they'd do their best (not THE best).  :)

i checked w/my photographer about this and she's fine with it as well....
