DJ Recs - Charlotte area - and what to ask??

Hi ladies!

I am setting up vendor meetings with DJs for this weekend! So far, we have Audio To Go, but that's it- they did a friend's wedding in May, and I really liked them.

I'd like to stay under $1500 - recs please! And what are the important things to look for in a DJ?

This is my first vendor meeting other than the reception venue and church!

Thank you thank you thank you!!

All the right grooves is a board favorite!  They are awesome, under $1,000, you won't be sorry!

We are using All the Right Grooves out of Charlotte based on all the wonderful recommendations from Knotties who have already been married.  I think they are by far the most used DJ by people who post on here.  My initial meeting was with Jill and she was very professional and had a nice presentation setfor me which the other DJs I met with did not.  I appreciated that she gave her spiel and then let me ask follow up questions, where some of the other DJs sat there and stared at me waiting for me to ask questions and had nothing else to say.  Anyway I am sure you will get tons of responses from people who actually used them who will say they are great!

All the Right Grooves!  I met with Bethany and she was great so I booked her on the spot.  Their prices are wonderful, you won't be sorry.  I asked questions about how the evening will flow, whether she'll play a CD for me during the cocktail hour (she will, for free), what sorts of music she'll play (any, depends what each couple likes), and the deposit required (only $50 to secure the date!).  They are wonderful to work with so far, she provided a packet of information including a timeline, typical Father/Daughter dance songs, music she'll play during dinner, cake cutting songs, etc.  She had it all covered!  They book up quickly so don't wait!

Ive worked with ATRG a few times- love them!! They go above and beyond!  At one of my outdoor weddings a couple of years ago, it rained just before the ceremony. Bethany joined the venue staff in wiping down the chairs before the ceremony. I would highly recommend atrg.

Another great choice in the Clt area is Roy Rosen.  Google Dj Roy Rosen to find his website.  He keeps the crowd on the dancefloor all night, young and old.  :)

Ditto.  We were so impressed with our meeting with them.  They told us about how they work...what they do/don't do and then they said that my date was on hold for me until I made a decision and then they just got up and left.  Absolutely no pressuring us at all!  We totally appreciated this so much!  We knew they were right for us, so we sent them the deposit the very next day!

We used Boogie Nights DJ (email: boogienightsentertainment@yahoo.com ) based on a family friend's recommendation.  Michael was really great to work with and everyone we've talked to that was at the wedding said he was the best DJ they've seen at a wedding.  And we paid less than $600 for the whole night!  There's a review in my bio but DH and I highly recommend him!

Wow! I didn't realize so many people were using/had used All the Right Grooves...we are working with Jill and she is fabulous!  We are really pleased with our selection in this!

ETA:  It made us feel very comfortable that she had worked with our venue several times.  Since our wedding is in Lake Lure I was super concerned about making sure everyone knew where to go, what needs to set up where and whatnot and we were super excited to hear that they had been there several times and were familiar with the locations of everything for their set up!

ATRG. I booked them without even calling them or emailing them, that is how good the reviews were. Bethany was fantastic at our wedding. Go get them and dont look back! PS you will spend about half as much as your budget with them...
