I looked through both of their photos and I think they both do an amazing job so since photowise I didn't seem to have a preference I just went based off of price. Todd is almost half th price of Mike L so he was the choice for me. I booked him about 10 months in advance.

I picked Todd because I liked that some of his pics have sort of a vintage look to them. And of course his prices helped too. I booked him a little over a year out.

I booked Mike L a year and 2 months out before they raised the prices.  Todd was my first choice but he was already booked for our date.

I chose Todd mainly for the price. I do love his pictures though! I booked him 9 months out.

i just sent out my check for Todd (i year 2 months out). like everyone said, i liked both their work but the price of B&W cannot be beat

I went with Mike L about 13 months out.  I made my decision off of reputation, the speed of responses to questions but I also got a much higher comfort level knowing there's three of them in the 'company' that shoot versus one.  Todd's reputation is steller but I always had it in the back of my head, well what if he gets a bad batch of oysters the night before he's supposed to shoot my wedding or something lol.

we had originally sent our deposit in for Todd @ B&W (this was before I foud Mike L.)..but another bride had sent her deposit in 2 days before me. Todd told me he could have one of his assistants shoot our wedding, but for the same price. I asked for info on these assistants but he said they come and go so he couldnt give me any info. I could not spend the money for one of his "come and go" assistants without seeing their work first. He let me cancel becuase of the situation and we booked with Mike L. Todd does great work...but I am sooo much happier I went with Mike L. I love their website, blog and facebook page...I think they are more "us" when it comes to that. And we booked them back in the day when they were cheaper than Todd...so even a bigger bonus.

We booked Mike L.  After checking out others I just knew.  Plus communicating with Courtney has been amazing.  I love the blog that Mike L does (I stalk it constantly).  I also booked when the prices where pretty much the same as Todd's.  Either way I don't think you can go wrong.

Damn, I don't like these posts cause it makes me second guess my choice which is Todd.  GRRRR.  Not cause of the ethics comment, but cause I do like that Mike has a blog and it's nice to see updated photos, whereas Todd doesn't really do that.

It's a very rusty can that needs to stay closed!!

There is no reason to doubt your decisions unless you've had a personal encounter with the vendor that you feel requires you to change your mind.  There are plenty of brides here who have posted photographs in their bios after they are married that demonstrate a number of photographers and their talents.

No I know, I totally hear you.  The Photog was one of the first things, well I think it was the first thing, that I booked, and I sorta rushed into it cause he had such great reviews, but I wish I would have taken my time a little more on it so that I was sure.  I've tended to second guess myself with some wedding things, so there's that too.  I'm sure Todd will be fantastic, like he has been for everyone else!
