Ceremony in front of Bellagio fountains...

Hello ladies, I just started planning my Vegas wedding! I have never visited and have a ton of questions! First off, I was wondering if any one knows if you are allowed to get married outside in front of the Bellagio fountains? I want a short 5 minute ceromony and thought that it would be the perfect backdrop. I know the Bellagio offers packages but I am not looking for what they are offerering. Is there a spot where visitors can go and view the fountains and I can just quickly have a short ceremony? I have also heard that they do not allow photographers to take pictures of you at the fountains... is this true?! Thank you for all of your help... many more questions to come!

I don't think they can restrict you from doing something like this on the street in front of the fountains.  However, two things to consider:

    1) You wouldn't be able to stop tourists and other passersby from getting in the way
    2) The music they pump in is LOUD.  Everything would have to be shouted for anyone to be able to hear.

Personally, I wouldn't do it.  Perhaps you can have a quick ceremony at your reception location, that's pretty much what we did.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. my photographer works for a company (or owns it i guess) that does ceremonies in public areas (inlcuding the fountains).  They allow 6 guests max tho since it's a public area, but he does have photos of ceremonies and couples in front of the fountains (and he took a few photos of my friend and her husband in front of them in October).  his website is sceniclasvegasweddings.com and the photog's name is Trey Tomsik.

My FI actually called and asked about this before we were even engaged.  Technically, it can be done, but if you are seen by security, they can (and probably will) interrupt the ceremony and make you move.  All of the property, including the sidewalk, all the way to the edge of the road, is private property, so they are allowed to ask you to leave.  The same is ture for photos - it can be done, but security can ask you to stop if they see you.   So basically its up to you if you want to take the risk or not.  I was not willing to take the chance of my ceremony being ruined, so we ruled it out.  Bellagio does have a wedding Terrace that overlooks the fountains, but it is uber expensive!!  I toured it tho - its beautiful, if you ever change your mind about not wanting a package thing.  Good luck-

both points true.  my friend had her wedding at the LV welcome sign.  bad idea for a larger group (20 people).  None of the guests could hear a thing.  If you had a few people joining you, it would probably be OK but still difficult to hear.  For a 5 minute ceremony though you may not mind.  And the people that were around during her 'sign' ceremony were very respectful, but I'm sure that's not always the case.

Bellagio told me that they DO own the sidewalk infront of the fountains.  It would only be public property if you were literally standing on the street (in traffic).  Just FYI. :)

Like someone said further up, you can hire the Terrazza Di Sogno which overlooks the fountains. They will even time them to jump up right in the middle of your first kiss!

    But it is expensive! http://www.bellagio.com/weddings/terrazza-di-sogno.aspx

Yup, the Bellagio security can interrupt your ceremony and/or photo taking even on the sidewalk in front of the fountains. If you don't mind the risk then go for it!

And as others have said, there is the Terrace option at Bellagio, but it's an additional $2,000 on top of whatever package you choose. It was very beautiful and this does include you being able to pick what song they play and having it timed to your ceremony. My FI & I also toured the terrace but decided that extra $2,000 would be better used elsewhere in the wedding.
