So my wife and I are already going back to Vegas for our one year in June but we were looking to vacation somewhere in March as well. Long story short, after considering places around the Caribbean and Mexico, we're just doing Vegas instead. Even better; I had some old Southwest coupons that expire soon so we're flying free on those. With the $7.50 per person security fee, and the four drink coupons they just sent, we're already up by five dollars before leaving Tampa LOL.
Now the good part; specific to craps players. Apparently MLife hotels (mandalay, thehotel, mirage, mgm, etc.) do not factor the odds bet into your average wager when computing how to rate your play. Total Rewards hotels (caesars, flamingo, planet hollywood, etc.) do. Suffice it to say, that can be a big difference for people who like to play craps and bet enough to get rated since if you play heavy odds, that can dramatically change your average bet from the casino's perspective. I haven't stayed at a Caesars Group property in years but just based on play at a Harrahs in New Orleans one night last year, I got a much better offer from Total Rewards than what I got from MLife after staying at MB twice last year, so we're going to give them a try instead.
I tried my best to find something else we'd enjoy just as much but the price of traveling to the middle of nowhere, the fact that we never do any excursion type stuff, means we spend quite a bit of money on hotel and travel and still don't get as nice a room, or as great a variety of incredible food options, as you do in Vegas. It's hard to resist. And with no cost for the plane or hotel, now we have lots of party/gamble money; maybe it will be one of those elusive trips where you come out ahead!
Viva Las Vegas!
