Favor idea, thoughts?

So we were just going to do CD favors but I started thinking maybe everyone wouldn't like the CD that much.  Instead I'm thinking of doing 3 of our favorite things, which are: A giant oatmeal and chocolate chip cookie from Bread Harvest Bread Co. (my fave cookie), 2 pretzels dipped in chocolate & caramel (Jared's not a big sweets person, but he likes these/pretzels) and the 3rd would still be the CD of our favorite songs.  Most of our friends like the same music as us.

Both the cookie and pretzel would be wrapped in celophane with a ribbon around it and a tag on it like the pic. The pretzel would say, Sara and Jared tied the knot on (date). They would be in little gift bags with something on the outside saying thanks for being part of our day, enjoy (something like that). My mom is very crafty so we'd be able to do the tags and make the bags look cute for very cheap.

I figured everyone likes edible items, and if people like the CD or even a few songs they'd get use out of it.

Thoughts?

Waste of money? I am hoping to keep it between $3-$3.50 per person, so about $175 total max.

I figure it's a nice little thank you that people can enjoy, but I'll take opinions!

I like! edible favors are a great idea and if you know a few guest will like the CD then go for it.

Edible things are always the best in my opinion. What you picked sounds amazing.  To be honest, if I were a guest at a wedding and received a cd as part of my favor, I would probably toss it.

edible is ALWAYS the best bed. Though I'd probably listen to the CD once if I didn't like every song It would be tossed.

I love the "tied the knot" pretzel idea!

We did shot glasses at the reception, but are also sending a CD with our thank yous to people who were at the wedding. The CDs do have a meaning - it was the first hour of reception music, which was comprised of bands DH & I have seen in concert together. There is a wide range of artists from Eminem to Taylor Swift to some indie folk in Bon Iver.

    And Yummy! to the cookie!

great idea! FI and I are considering a CD, mostly because our guests are driving so a CD might be nice for the drive home.

Honestly, we skipped favors.  The conversation with my mom went thusly:

Mom: So you don't have anything that says "thanks for coming" or anything like that?
Me: I think the open bar and four hosted meals say "thanks for coming" well enough.  A cookie isn't going to be the one thing that makes people feel truly appreciated.

So I'm of the general opinion that you don't really need favors.  But if you really want to do them, your idea sounds fine.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Thanks ladies, yeah we'll see what happens, I know some think they are a waste of money but I think it's a fun wedding thing to do since we aren't doing the at home wedding, and who doesn't like good bad for you things to eat:)  Vegas has both the Great Harvest Bread Company for the cookies and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for the pretzels, I was excited both companies had locations there.  So we'll get the bags and wrapping done and ready to go here and all we'll have to do is put the items in the bags.

As far as the CD goes, I agree a few won't listen to it, but I think most will even if there are only a few songs on there they like.  If I got a CD with a few songs I really liked on it, I def. wouldn't toss it, but that's me.  I also think it brings a personal aspect to it, as music, especially certain bands, are a big part of FI and I's lives.  Plus our friends/family have good taste in music like us;)  Thanks again for the opinions!

I love salty-n-sweet, so I love the pretzel idea, so much better than favors that just gather dust or get thrown away...but I must disagree with some of the other girls...my FI has a CD from a friend's wedding and it is one of our favorite CDs! it has the couples favorite music, which was also the music that was played at their reception, a mix of classic love songs, punk, and rock. We love it...but I guess not everyone loves the music, but close friends will probably have the same taste in music. And I agree with Keana, it is great for guests who are traveling, it gives them something to listen to on the way home :-)
