Good place to party on a Sun night?

I've been trying to find a cool place to party after our wedding. We are getting married at Planet Hollywood on a Sunday. Anyone whose been to Vegas have any suggestions? Most of the ones I've looked at aren't open on Sundays, including the new nightclub opening at PH (which would have been perfect).

(Local here) I hear a lot of good things about XS from my friends that frequent clubs.  I'm not a club person myself, I just tag along for bday parties and the like.

We went to Surrender and LAX. We went on a Saturday night when it first opened and it was pretty terrible. You had to pay for bottle service just to sit down anywhere. They would not even let you lean against the planters. There was not very good music and no one was dancing. It seemed more like a stand around and look at each other sort of place.

LAX on the other hand was a lot of fun. I am not even the club type but we went on a girls weekend for my friend who was going through a divorce. She wanted to club so we did. LAX had the best music, everyone was dancing, and everyone was nice. I felt like this place was much more my scene, Surrender was kind of pretentious for my taste, but that could be just me :)

You have to pay for bottle service at every club for a place to sit. If you just want to go and sit and hang out, dont go to a club. For a Sunday XS is industry night, so it is always packed, also personally it is one of my favs. For Wed I would def go to Surrender, its also at Encore, and Wed is its industry night. Both are beautiful clubs and really a good time, I wouldn't go to LAX anymore, its older and not too many people go there anymore.

Also, if you want some place to sit but not pay for bottle service, KOI inside PH has an ultra lounge that starts at 10:30-4am. Its more laid back, and its smaller, but it might be nice to mainly be just you and your family and friends. Like I said though, its not a big place (its just in the lounge area) but if you want a club type atmosphere without having the craziness of an actual club, KOI is a decent option. I work in the restaurant and because the lounge is not a big area it would have a more intimate feel to it.

Been to both XS and Surrender (on Saturday) and we voted for Surrender, hands down. We had a cabana, which was awesome, by the way.

Yes, opening weekend at any club sucks. I like to give them 6 months to get it together before going. And yes, you cannot sit unless you pay for a bottle or have one comped...

We went to ROK inside NYNY, they have pretty good music and we could sit w/o getting bottle service. The night we went it was free champagne for the ladies. It was a lot of fun. we met up with some co-workers that happened to be in Vegas at the same time for a ladies weekend. FI looked like a giant pimp with all these ladies dancing around him.
    It's open Wed - Sun @ 10p

Also, I don't know what time your planning for your after party to start, but there are usually guys by the escalators in NYNY handing out free entry passes. But if your planning on getting bottle service, you can probably pay ahead of time to get VIP

Yes.  I love that you can go up on the balconies at LAX (less crowded) and watch the dance floor without getting a table.

<div>I've always wondered about this.  Last time we were in Vegas the ROK promoters gave free entry and coupons for 2 drinks each to FI and I, and we were almost tempted to go in just for the free drinks.  This may be a dumb question, but...what kind of music do they play in there?  Typical Top-40, hip hop/R&B and dance stuff?  Or...rock, as the name suggests?  Is it more like a Coyote Ugly kind of atmosphere?</div>

It's mix depending on the night/dj/etc. I remember it being your basic club-type music, so I guess top-40. Same stuff they play in most of the clubs. We went in b/c of the free drinks, ended up staying a few hours. It is small-ish, so I'm not sure if I would want to go there w/o table service if I had a large group in tow, but usually it's just FI & me and maybe another 2-3 people so it works.
Not anything like Coyote Ugly. I'm not a fan of that place. That place kinda seems like a sausage -hoping for some crazy girl action and the "action" is 40-50 something divorcees, trying to be young and crazy.
