Should I get a limo?

So I'm debating what to do about transportation from our hotel (Signature) to our ceremony (Mandalay Bay).

My FI thinks a cab would be appropriate and less expensive. I'm concerned about getting my dress into a cab. It's not big, but I don't want it to get too wrinkled or dirty (is this a silly concern?).

Thoughts?

Limo or rental car (only if you are already getting one) would be my choice. You could bring a towel for the cab but you don't want to risk them driving slow or getting lost (I've seen it before when hotels are so close) and you being late.

If it's in a budget limo or car service would be the way.

Thank you!! We are already renting a car... I think MB has free parking. It would just be a pain to get the car after the reception (since we'll be at Maggiano's and the bus is bringing everyone back to MGM).

[QUOTE]Oh, I didn't realize where Signature was. Hmm that's a tough one; just going a few blocks. I would hate to get the dress messed up in a cab though...

Hence my dilemma! :) I'll see if maybe Bell Trans or Presidential would give me a discount for booking a few different modes for our day. We need a post-ceremony car (for photo tour) and a bus post-reception. It's worth a shot!

If you're already getting a car for a photo tour after the ceremony, I would probably just book them an extra hour for transportation to the ceremony. It's your wedding, you should arrive in style :)

If you are going to do rental car at MB I would gdo valet! Its not a quick walk from what I remember from self park. Just my two cents. If it were me I would do a limo and save the hassle ... plus its a photo op getting out of the limo etc.

Oh and FWIW we are doing our photo tour before the ceremony so we will have a limo aleady and get dropped off.

[QUOTE]I'm going to throw EarthLimo out there if your looking at transportation companies. http://earthlimos.leads.com/ I wouldn't want to be waiting around in the taxi line and risk being late.

Thanks for this, Scary! I think Earth was a little out of our price-range though. My FI is pushing for a cab to save money. Do you know how much they are per hour for one of their smaller vehicles?

    Thanks, ladies!!!

    I'm not sure.
I paid just under $150 for a 10 person limo for an hour and a half. That included tax, gratuity, and a bottle of champagne. The thing I really liked was that they included everything in their price.

Ya you can definitely always use their Limo service. They would actually have a fleet, not just 1. And then you can just charge that limo ride back to the room. As long as it's not a busy night such as a big concert or fight night then they'd be booked for their big guests. MGM actually has some gorgeous Rolls Royces, too! Although since it'd be through the hotel you'd be paying a premium for the limo ride, probably somewhere around $70 based on what we charged when I worked in VIP. But you should check around into town car services, most limo companies with have them. I think the issue with the taxi is they can get quick dirty and nasty and you never know how bad their going to smell.
