Photo Booth

I have seen several of these photo booths at wedding shows and am wondering if they are still in style? Some of them look like fun, others are pricey and small. I am thinkng about having one at my reception but am not sure. Any thoughts on this?

    I'm having one! I can't wait!

I remember the bride with the photo wall (or another one) she had a wall with old frames on it so guests could stick their heads in the frames - it was really cute!

We did a photo wall -- http://mccardell.blogspot.com/2010/11/magnolia-manor-wedding-beth-and-chris.html -- the bottom 2 pics on the blog post show it.  It was really easy to make (well...easy for my husband, his dad and my dad who know basic tools) and cost about $100.  We just put it up, and assumed most people would have their own cameras to use.  I did buy 2 disposable cameras for those that did not have their own cameras, so we could print them out and send the guests their photos, but they didn't really get used.  Our photographer also got some shots of us, and guests (see the blog.)  If you are interested in DIY directions, let me know!

(Also we are selling our wall for $100 if you are interested.  It folds in half, so for transport purposes its 3 feet by 5 feet)

We're actually renting a photobooth from Shutterbooth so they have a ton of props for our guests to use. They are a little pricy, but we got a special deal through our linen company. The prints will also be our favors and they are making us a guest book onsite.

We went to a wedding over the summer and they a photowall and EVERYone loved it. In their thank yous, they sent you one of your pictures from the photowall. I now have a great picture of me, my FI and my FIL's.

nschuder - I found the idea online, so I can't take originality credit, but thanks :)   If you end up doing one and need any advice/DIY tips, let me know!

Photobooths can be easy (and cheap) DIY projects!  Either make a backdrop or hand a quilt, set out some props, and borrow a friend's camera and tripod.  I am using one of my BMs cameras.  Set it on a 10 second timer and everyone just has to jump in!  Leave a cute instruction list if you feel the need.  Props can be borrowed from friends with kids, bought, or made!

I don't see a need for an expense here.  It is a fun, casual time....don't blow big bucks on it.
