How to order the marriage certificate (not license)?

So we just got back from honeymoon and figured out you should be able to order a marriage cert from the clark county recorder's office, but hell if I can find where you do that.  We did get to a search for for marriage documents but we're not in there.  Suposedly it can take them up to ten days, so maybe we just need to be patient because the tenth business day would be tomorrow?  How long did it take everyone else's certificate to be orderable?

I think it only took ours maybe 7 or 8 days. I think you need the certificate number, but maybe you can search by name? Do you just need the actual link of where to go?

If you have it handy yeah.  First thing I did was try this:

    http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/depts/Recorder/Pages/OrderingCopies.aspx

No results found when searching by either name.  But I do find the record of our license and affidavit if I search via:

    http://aivitals.co.clark.nv.us/webinquiryinternet/

I assume that just means they haven't recorded it yet and I need to wait?  I sent an email to the Rev to find out when he turned in the signed license.

It probably means he hasn't turned it in yet - our wedding was on a Friday, Rev. Linda turned it in on Monday, we picked it up from the recorder's office on Wednesday.

Hey, how was Antigua? I went to the casino Tuesday night and wasn't sure when  you were here and kept looking around wondering if any of the couples were Mr and Mrs Vegasgroom!

That first link is what I remember. I would think they had filed it or are pretty close if tomorrow is the 10th day. You might even check back later today.

I think ours was 7-8 days. I remember the first time I did it, I was typing in something wrong and they couldn't find it.

It was great; I'll be posting all my reviews hopefully by end of weekend, just got back last night.  We went to the casino Tuesday night actually; I played blackjack for a little bit, won some money, then we left and came back with a bunch of Italians we had been hanging out with for several of the nights and they played roulette.  It was pretty funny since they barely spoke english, my wife speaks some spanish, so communicating was interesting but we had a great time with them.

The casino has a craps table but I guess they don't have any dealers trained for it anymore because they didn't have enough players playing often enough to make it worth keeping open.  The pit boss was funny though because my wife started bugging him about the craps table and said we could get ten people to come play immediately if he'd open it and he was like what do you know about craps, so she tells him the payoff odds on all the bets and he's like wow; so he bought us both drinks (drinks aren't free at this casino).

We rented a car and drove from Sandals to Shirley Heights one day, that was an adventure since about 5% of the streets have street signs lol.  I got used to that and the way people drive so on the way back I managed to do it in an hour instead of the three it took us to get out there.  I was tailgating locals by the time we got back haha.

Oh man I probably saw you then! I was by the bar, watching the horrid karaoke!! Yeah they're stingy with drinks, even on "Ladies Night" it's only $1 or 3 or 5, but it's crap alcohol!

That's so funny about the drive to Shirley Heights! First, I commend you for even trying it!!! That's probably one of the longest drives (across the island)... it's 35-40 minutes if  you know where you're going :) I'm glad you got there and back!

Look forward to your reviews and glad you had a good time!

Did you register? If not you have to do that to order it online. I don't think ours took 10 days.

The registration thing is for pre-ordering the license so you can go through the internet pickup line, we're trying to get a copy of the certificate post-marriage.

I'm postinh from my phome so I can't look it up. But there is a section on there that says you have to register an account with your email to order the certificate. It was confusing actually but we got it to work.
  • edited December 2011
Oh, yeah I think that is the step after you do the search for the document you want a copy of.
